When you're staying in one place for a while, taking the motorhome to refill its onboard propane tank requires breaking camp. An auxiliary cylinder gives you another propane supply that you can remove and refill while the motorhome stays parked. This pigtail connects that cylinder to a compatible motorhome propane system.
A broken or damaged propane hose can release propane rapidly, creating a serious fire hazard. The 0.9 GPM excess-flow POL fitting restricts propane flow when its closing rate is exceeded.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the MEC RV propane pigtail hose for auxiliary tanks. So if you're staying at a campsite for an extended period, eventually you may need propane, and if your motorhome has a permanently amounted tank, refillment can mean packing everything up, driving the entire RV system to a propane station. So, an auxiliary cylinder is gonna give you that second option. You can connect a portable propane tank to a compatible system on your motorhome or camper.
And that cylinder when it gets low, you can simply remove it and take it in for refill while leaving the motor home at the campsite. So, this 24-inch pigtail is gonna make that connection between that auxiliary cylinder and your propane cylinder. So, on the one end you have a male POL fitting that's gonna go to the tank, and that has a 7/8th inch nut that'll thread into the internal POL connection on the propane cylinder and tighten down with the wrench. And on the other end you have your quarter inch male inverted flare for connecting to a compatible female inlet on your propane system. Now, an important feature here is built inside of here.
There's a excessive flow protection on this POL fitting side. So, that means if this hose we inchesre damaged and propane suddenly started escaping too quickly, this fitting is designed to restrict the flow, help limit the amount of propane that gets released. And this also is a thermoplastic hose that's UL and CGA approved for propane service, and it's fully crimped using brass ferrules. So again folks, if you wanna use a portable auxiliary propane cylinder without having to move the entire campsite whenever you need more fuel, this will give you that connection.
