Video Transcript for Review of MEC Propane Fittings - Hoses - MEC44UR

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the MEC 60 inch propane hose. Folks, you're going to get 5 foot or 60 inches. This is going to be the connection point between your propane regulator most likely and an appliance. But obviously when those appliances aren't that close to each other, you need more space, right So this is 60 inches or again, 5 feet. I just left it quilled up the way they shipped it to us, just so you kind of see how you're going to get it and it just kind of fits better here on the table as well.

So as you can see, you do have a three-eighth inch female flare swivel on both ends here, and those obviously connect to compatible three eighth inch male flare fittings. So the neat thing about flare fittings is, one, the swivel ones, you can just use a wrench to tighten these. You don't have to twist the hose. And the other thing is that flare is what makes that connection. So you don't have to use pipe dope, you don't have to use any kind of thread tape.

They actually tell you not to use anything, but they do recommend, and so do we here at etrailer, always, always, always any kind of connection fittings with propane, any kind of gas, always make sure you're testing those with a leak detection. We sell a gas leak detection sold separately here, and I highly recommend you pick that up as well, just to make sure that there's no gas leaks. Now this is a great hose. It has a thermoplastic design. So the ends here have brass crimped ferrules and these are rated up to 350 PSI of working pressure.

Well folks, that's going to wrap up our quick look together at the 60 inch MEC propane hose. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
