Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Club Personal Vault XL locking storage box. So if you've got any kind of personal items or things that you want to keep safe in your vehicle, maybe in a dorm room, or a hotel room, or anywhere that you might be out traveling, this is going to help to keep those items safe, whether that's your passport, maybe some money, valuables, maybe some firearms, or something that you just don't want people to be able to get to easily. So this is a nice low profile box you can put those items into, lock it up and be assured that they're going to stay safe in your vehicle or wherever you might want to house them. It's just a pretty simple system, it's a drawer that you can lock, it has a little knob on one side, so you can use it that way, or you can use one of the cable lock that comes with it to wrap around a post so that nobody can take the box as well.So right now I just have the little knob in there so that you can't open that box. It does have a little bit of movement, a little bit of play, but it's pretty secured in there. It comes with two keys to lock and unlock, so I can take that little knob out now and I can open that drawer, so really easy to operate.

On the inside it's felt-lined so it keeps everything protected and there's also a little foam layer as well to help keep things from sliding around really easily and also give a little bit of extra padding. You can lock it the exact same way but with the cable lock as well, especially if you're putting it in a car, you can wrap this around the seat anchor and make sure that it's not going to be able to be removed from your vehicle.Put this little guy in there, close it up, and then just loop that anchor through itself. Put it around a seat or loop the cable through itself and then put it into the box. You want to make sure that you push it all the way flush so that it'll get in the right spot and then lock it up. You might need to kind of move that little piece around to make sure that it fully engages with that locking arm.

It sometimes doesn't want to grab around it, you really have to push in. There we go, so you really do have to push in and make sure that it's fully seated in there before the little hook will come around that cylinder. Once that's in place, again, that box is nice and locked up.Take this out and we can go over some measurements. The cable measures about 39 1/2 inches long and it's 3/16 of an inch in diameter. It does have a polyurethane coating, so that's going to keep it from scratching and scuffing up things.

The drawer itself and the housing is made out of steel and aluminum, so it's lightweight but durable and should make a great addition to just about anywhere that you're going to put it. As far as the outside dimensions, it's about 12 inches long by about 8 7/8 inches wide, and 2 11/16 inches tall.The interior of the drawer measures about 11 1/2, more like 11 3/4 inches long by about 8 3/8 inches wide. Although, with that locking mechanism, you are a little bit limited on the front there and it's closer to 7 1/2 inches wide. And then about 2 1/2 inches tall, roughly. Weight's just about 6lbs, and is covered by a 90 day warranty.
