Today we're going to be taking a look at the Mississippi State University 2-inch hitch cover from AMG. The hitch cover's going to allow you to show your school pride. It's going to add a clean finished look to your hitch and it's going to help keep dirt and grime out of the receiver tube of your hitch. Now the hitch cover's made from a steel construction. It's going to feature a really nice black powder coat finish, which is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Here at the front it's going to have a chrome plated metal emblem.
It's going to feature a really nice rust proof and fade proof design. The product is made right here in the USA. On the back side, it's got a foam gasket. That goes around the portion that goes into the receiver tube of your hitch. That foam gasket, it's going to really help reduce rattle in between the hitch and the hitch cover.
This is an officially licensed product. Now, when installing this, it is going to require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock to get it fully installed and secured in the hitch. Those items are sold separately, so if you need one, you can find them right here at etrailer.com. The pin holes on the hitch cover will accept a standard 5/8-inch diameter pin. A couple of measurements to go over with you real quick. We're going to take an overall width measurement of the face plate.
That's going to give us a measurement of about 5 inches. Overall height is going to measure around 3-1/2 inches and the distance that we have from the back of that foam pad to the center of the hitch pin hole. That's going to give us a measurement of pretty close to 2-1/2 inches. Now, this is designed for a 2-inch by 2-inch hitch, pretty simple installation process. Just slide it into the receive tube of your hitch, line up your pin holes and secure by installing the hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock.
