You're backed into a canyon, the sun's dropping fast, but the air's still clinging to the heat. This AC hums low, sips 24V DC power, and keeps your van cool so you can kick back and relax while the world sweats just outside your doors.
You've had summer trips where you soaked up every last drop of daylight. Maybe there were sweaty ridge hikes, sunbaked desert climbs, dirt on your arms, and salt drying on your neck. By the time you crawled into your rig, it was roasting inside, and the built-in fan wasn't cutting it. You probably lay there with the fan on full blast, still feeling like your skin couldn't breathe.
The Velit 2000R cools your space to a temperature your body can recover comfortably in. It runs directly off your battery bank without needing an inverter and pairs with the power system you already rely on. You don't have to trade peace and stillness for campground hookups. Breathe easier, sleep deeper, and wake up surrounded by the wild, not someone else's RV slide-out.
For longer trips, it's best paired with a healthy battery bank and a way to recharge it, like solar panels or a generator, especially if you're camping off-grid for days at a time.
If you're relaxing under the stars and not ready for bed yet, you can still prep your rig without leaving the hammock. This AC gives you three ways to dial in the temp. Go old school with the onboard panel, use the included remote from your sleeping bag, or embrace technology and adjust it from your phone using the Velit app.
Ductless air conditioners, like this one, move air straight into your rig without needing built-in ceiling ducts, making them ideal for vans, retrofits, teardrops, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas in larger rigs that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or a rear bedroom.
Once it kicks on, it stays quiet. Eco Mode runs at 45 decibels, softer than a quiet conversation. Boost Mode tops out at 58 dB, more like steady white noise. It's quiet enough to hear the breeze, the rain, or whatever weird noises the woods are making, including sasquatch.
Most vans already have a 14 inch by 14 inch roof fan. That's exactly what this AC is built to fit. You're not gonna have to make sketchy measurements and cut into your roof. Just pull the fan out, drop the Velit unit in, wire it up, and you're on to cooler nights. With the gasket, mounting hardware, trim panel, and wiring harness all in the box, you're nearly set from the start.
The compact, low-profile shape keeps things tight up top too. Its square footprint leaves room for solar panels, storage, or anything else you've got planned for your roof.
While the unit itself doesn't require additional components to operate, it's recommended to have a system in place to recharge your battery bank, such as solar panels or a generator, especially for extended off-grid use.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Velit 9,000 BTU 2000R RV air conditioning system with remote. Now, this 9,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to chill the inside of your Class B van or trailer without draining your battery bank. This efficient 24 volt twin-rotor compressor air conditioner system runs directly off of your battery bank without needing an inverter, and it's gonna pair with the power system that you already have and rely on. So you're not gonna have to trade peace and stillness for campground hookups.
Now, this does use the eco-friendly refrigerant R32 to give you sustainable cooling performance. Let's talk dimensions. So looking at the overall length from front to back and the overall width, we're sitting at 31 1/2 inches square and the overall height's gonna be about 7 1/8 inches tall. So it's indeed a low profile unit, and this weighs about 66 pounds or so, so not terribly heavy. And this compact low profile shape is going to keep things tight up top as well.
So it's, as we mentioned, a square footprint that's going to leave room for solar panels, storage, or whatever else you're gonna have, whatever else you have mapped out on your roof. Now, this air conditioner is going to give you three ways to adjust that temperature to get it to where you want it. And as you can see, I do have, the way I have this mounted, I'm unable to easily show you the bottom, but I do have a photo up there on your screen showing you the bottom. So the first way that you're gonna be able to control this is gonna be with the control panel. So when you have this dropped in and installed through that rooftop opening up on the ceiling, you're gonna have access to the vents of the control panel.
So that control panel obviously is gonna be a way to control the temperature setting. But taking a closer look on this side of my table, we also have a remote that's going to allow you to, virtually anywhere within your camper or trailer, allow you to adjust the temperature, and the settings, and the speed, everything that you need. So you've got the remote. And then also, you can use your smartphone with the free app that you can download from whatever app store your smartphone uses. So it'll connect to the air conditioner system via Bluetooth, so you're gonna be able to control it by your phone.
So that's pretty cool that you got those three ways to manage the temperature and control of this air conditioner. But once it kicks on, it's going to stay quiet. If you have this using the Eco Mode, it's gonna be, it's gonna run at about 45 decibels, and that's softer than a quiet conversation. And then if you have it all the way up on Boost Mode, that's gonna top out at about 58 decibels, which is gonna be more like a steady white noise. So, indeed, this is gonna be a very quiet running machine. Now, most vans already have a 14 inch by 14 inch roof fan, and that's exactly what this air conditioner unit is built to fit. So you're not gonna have to make sketching measurements or cut into your roof. You're just gonna pull out that old fan and drop this unit in, wire it up, and you'll be good to go. So the kit includes everything that you see here on my table. Obviously, you're gonna get the air conditioner, but again, taking a look here at this side of my table, I want to just go over each piece that's coming to you. You're gonna get the mounting brackets that I have here, the ceiling gasket, the mounting hardware that we have in this bag, and then the interior trim panel that's gonna give the unit a nice finished look there on the ceiling. And then we talked about the remote. You're gonna get a 15-foot wireless harness with in-line fuse. You're gonna get a user manual to guide you through the installation and the operation. So everything that you need to get this up and running, and should be a pretty simple install really. And while this unit itself doesn't require additional components to operate, it is recommended to have a system in place to recharge your battery bank. And you know this, such as a solar panel or generator, especially if you're planning for extended off-grid use. This has been tested to run steady through rough roads, dry heat, and airborne dust. And, again, this is a complete kit, but for van installs or other uneven surfaces, you do need to purchase some sealant separately. And sealant is not gonna be required for flat surface installs, such as like RV roofs. And we do also have this unit available in a black cover if that goes with your setup better than white. And we also have other configurations as well. So if this isn't exactly what you're looking for, do take a look at the other options that we have from Velit. Now, if you do decide to pick this up, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with getting this installed and using it so you can share your experience with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. And if you have any other additional questions that I did not answer for you during our time together, reach out to us either by phone, chat, or email. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Nice and powerful. Reasonably easy to i nstall
This AC is AWESOME!! Finally a unit for my R-Pod that I can just hook up to a battery! I like to to keep my set-up simple, and this does just that! I like how you can adjust the vents to blow the air where you need it, and it is so quiet too!
Van lifers and truck camper folks are going to love this setup. It runs quietly and puts out strong, consistent cold air exactly what you want in a small rig. I like that the whole thing installs as a single unit with no ductwork, just drop it in and wire it up.
Perfect setup for van builds or truck camper upgrades. The A/C is quieter than expected and delivers great cooling in smaller spaces. The install is refreshingly simple just one compact rooftop unit that fits right into a standard fan opening. No extras needed. The remote is a handy addition too.
I purchased one of your new Velit 12v air conditioners and installed it in my personal demo van. I want to report it was very easy to install and has worked very well for me, albeit limited use so far. But it's everything I had hoped so far. It will almost certainly become my go-to 12v air conditioner when my customers want to go that route.
We installed the Velit 2000R 12V air conditioner in our 2021 RAM Promaster 2500, and it’s been a great addition for our off-grid family camping trips. With two adults, two kids, and two dogs, the van can get warm quickly. We usually camp in BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas or campgrounds where we don't want to be the family with the generator, so finding something that is quiet and efficient was important. It’s pretty quiet inside, allowing us to have normal conversations even with it running nearby, and it’s barely audible outside the van so we don't annoy others in the campground.
In most reasonable temperatures, it cools the van quickly, although it did struggle a bit during a June trip to Moab where it hit 110°F. Thats more on me planning a summer camping trip to the high desert though. It did a good enough job to make it comfortable to at least fall asleep though. One thing we did run into an issue with was my battery bank. Yes, its 12V and very efficient for what it does but my 150AH lithium setup couldn't handle it all night, so I had to turn it off just as we were going to bed and let our regular vent fan run all night. I think 300AH at a minimum is what you should be running if you're looking for all night comfort(Thats my next upgrade). The REDARC BCDC got my battery up and running the next day though so I didn't worry about getting to run the AC the next day.
One big benefit we didn’t fully anticipate was how helpful it would be to run the unit while driving. Our van doesn’t have rear AC, so keeping the back cool for the kids and dogs was a huge plus. It’s also been great for quick store stops or grabbing food or groceries in places where dogs aren’t allowed. We can leave the AC on and know the van stays cool and safe. Even when we’re out hiking during the day, the ability to keep the van comfortable is a major advantage to keeping the kids motivated for more hiking. If you are truly looking to go off-grid or find some awesome campsites that don't allow generators this is a huge addition to making your camping setup a little more comfortable.
