Snapper Pin
Snapper Pins have many uses on equipment, trailers, couplers, pintles, etc. The quick connect and disconnect feature makes them easy to use. The double wire mechanism keeps it securely "locked" during use.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 38-212TR. This is Redline's Snapper Pin. Snapper pins have many uses on equipment, trailers, couplers, pintles and many more applications. The quick connect and disconnect feature of units like this make them very easy to use and really desirable. The double wire mechanism is going to keep it securely locked during its use. The pin diameter is going to measure 3/8 of an inch.
If we take a look at the overall usable length that we have, that's just going to be the area from the clip to the base of that collar, it looks like that measurement's going to be about 2-1/2 inches. The overall length from outside edge to outside edge is going to be about 3-3/8 of an inch. We take the measurement from the top of the pin to the bottom of that double wire mechanism, that's going to give us a measurement of about 1-5/8 of an inch. The overall length of the pin that we have from the bottom of the collar to the end of the pin, that's going to give us a measurement of right around 2-3/4 of an inch. It's a really simple operation.
You slide this into the pin hole in what you need to install for your particular application. Bring the round-style tab over. It's got this nice little guide right there that the pin's going to catch in to and it's just going to slide into place until it locks into position. It's a really simple system to use and again, you're going to have that double wire mechanism that's going to keep it securely locked in place when it's in use. That's going to do it for our review of part number 38-212TR.

I had purchased two of these several years ago, but over time both have been lost. Now that winter is over, I needed more and was happy to see eTrailer still carries them. Tthe rounded top piece fits nicely around the rounded top of the hitch, so they don't flap around in the wind....just sit nicely keeping everything together.
I had a hard time finding this size, so I'm happy I finally did and now can finish my project.
The pins were the exact size that I needed, and the light after installing, plug and play was shining bright, just what I needed it to do, now we'll just have to wait and see how long it stays that way

This is a great small size safety snapper pin. I have it attached via chain to your Husky 2" hitch coupler (HT 87074). It is the perfect answer for a safety pin that insures your coupler stays locked. I am highly satisfied with both products and would recommend either to anyone. (See Picture)

I am using 4 of the wire lock Snapper pins to attach a shelf I built to span the front of my trailer using etrack and the wood beam brackets. Using these pins makes the shelf mounting very solid yet completely removable in a matter of a minute or so.
While this is something these pins were not intended for, they appear to have been custom made for the job.

I had to restock my Snapper Pins for the fleet I coordinate. I was able to buy all the sizes I needed. Great communication on the shipment and arrived in a reasonable amount of time.
You would not think this was a hard part to find but it was so, I recommend to start with etrailer first for all your parts. I have a tent trailer and this snapper pin is just what I needed the right part the first time..
I purchased these clips for retaining the torsion bars on my camper hitch because the ones that came with the hitch were flimsy to say the least. These are good quality and are much easier to install and remove than the ones with the hairpin type clips. Good product.
These Snapper Pins are great. The extra tail length of the wire clip makes them easy to open and close (other pins without the extra tab length are tough to take off). And etrailer did a great job of customer service, keeping me informed when the package was shipped and when it would arrive, making sure that I got exactly what I ordered. They are good folks.
Perfect Replacement for my Curt fifth wheel hitch
This is a perfect replacement for the snapper pin that disappeared for locking my fifth wheel hitch. The tab makes it SO much easier to fasten and unfasten when reaching over the side rail of my truck. I don't know why more places do not carry these pins!
