Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Rubber Hitch Cover for two and a half inch trailer hitches. This hitch cover protects your receiver from dirt and debris. It looks great with your Curt Class V commercial duty trailer hitch. The cover simply pushes into the receiver opening. No pins or clips are needed to hold it in place. It's constructed of a very strong, solid, durable rubber construction.
Again, it is designed for a two and half inch by two and a half inch trailer hitch. If we take a measurement, edge to edge going this direction, we can see that that's going to measure about three and five eighths of an inch. Going this direction it's going to be the same, so it's a nice square design, three and five eighths by three and five eighths. This area back here is going to measure right around two and a half inches by two and a half inches, so that's how it fits tightly into a two and a half inch hitch. You'll notice that it has these raised portions on all sides. That gives it that nice, snug, secure fit.
Then the length of the lip right here, that's going to measure one and three eighths of an inch long. That's going to do it for today's look at the Curt Rubber Hitch Cover for two and a half inch trailer hitches.
Fits perfectly, looks great!
Great product, just what I needed.
I love it! Looks great & keeps the hitch clean while not in use
Great receiver. Very easy install.
Retainer collar fit perfectly and tight over receiver. Plug itself fit well too.
This is the only rubber one that I could find for a 2-1/2" hitch. Fits snug. Not sure long term yet, but worth it to keep the hitch from rusting as fast.
Came in perfect packaging and was exactly as described. Installed in one hour with no hydraulic tools (jacks). Fit perfectly. Rubber cap is great!
I was pleased to find a hard rubber 2.5 x 2.5 receiver cover with a 1.3 inch neck that holds the cover to the receiver with friction. I had another with a 1/4 inch neck that was gone to the never-never land in a matter of weeks. I made one from laminated rubber sheet. But I like clean design of the Curt. The neck on this cover gives a good grip and the flush fit with the outside of the receiver seems to keep water out of the receiver. The attached picture shows the cover in the OEM receiver of a GMC 2500.
My B&W turnover gooseneck ball gets debris in it and then I can't pull it out and turn it over so I wanted a plug so I can keep the ball in my truck. Your company is the only one that offers a plug large enough. It seems to fit very well good quality. Thank you.
Fits tight! Perfect!
It fits like a dream, nice and tight. Keeps the the inside of the hitch clean.
Great accessory to add a finished look to the back of our truck. Fits snugly in the hitch. Stays put through the car wash!
Curt trailer hitch cover quality is still very good after a years use in central Washington State.
This hitch cover is keeping debris out of my receiver and stays in place.
I’d buy again.

One year after purchasing and using this hitch cover. This product is still looking good and stays in place after summer heat, winter cold and snow storms. Car washes haven’t caused it to dislodge either. I’d still buy it again.
Exactly as described. Our truck has a 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver, and the GMC dealer couldn't get the correct size. etrailer.com is one of the few places where I could find it.

It is still on the hitch and doing its job.
Great quality
The 2 1/2 inch is hard to find, but not at etrailer

I needed a plug for my class V, 2-1/2” receiver tube. Honestly, this Curt cover was the only one I found in that size. Turns out that it was the only one that I needed! It is black hard rubber and fits snuggly in the receiver. Have had it on my 2018 Ram Power Wagon for over a year. Keeps out the salt & road debris. Withstands pressure washing and has not loosened with time. It blends in nicely with the truck in a subdued way. You don’t notice it when it is on the truck, but you notice when it is not. It is a nice finishing touch. Couldn’t ask for a better item. Should have came with the truck in my opinion. Very reasonable price too.
Great product. As far as I can tell, this Curt hitch cover is the only 2 1/2" rubber
hitch cover made. There are a bunch of metal ones that need to be pinned and
locked and a cheap plastic version that falls out, but no other HD rubber versions.
This one fits in snugly and securely and does what it's designed to do.
Recommended.
The 2 1/2 inch hitch plug I ordered is of a strong, thick, rubbery material. The order of the product was easy and arrived on time. The only improvement to the plug would be to extend the depth of the plug to the pin hole so it can be secured to the hitch.
The cover has a loose fit into the receiver and wouldn’t stay in place. I added a small piece of rubber to one side where the cover slides into the receiver and it fits very tight now. The cover was inexpensive so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot, it serves it purpose and looks good while covering the receiver.

The product is fine. I do not use it anymore due to the hitch being open all the way through so having the cap in actually can hold in the road salt in the winter. I did not know it when I bought the cover or even after I put in in for the first several months. If they would cap off the hitch tube on the end that points to the front of the truck than these would certainly do the trick I think. Product good, but my hitch not caped off makes it bad. It is whatever the factory used for the hitches. I have not tried to figure out what they used. Hitch manufacturers please take note to make the hitch usable while still capping off the front of the tube!
