The BX1 gooseneck coupler from Bulldog is designed to provide the easiest, most secure hookup possible. The bottom locking plate on this coupler is 50 percent larger than the competition, providing additional surface area to guide the ball into the socket. Miss the target by just over an inch and the coupler will still engage.
Once hookup is complete, use the easy-to-access, easy-to-maneuver handle to lock the coupler to the ball. When the handle is down, you know that everything is secure and it's okay to tow. For extra security you can insert a padlock (sold separately) through the fixed plate.
Once you begin towing, you may notice that there is far less rattle and jarring at the coupled point than you'd experience with a standard gooseneck coupler. This is because the ball pocket on the BX1 provides contact on both sides of the hitch ball, rather than on only one side, which is typical of the competition. The result is a tight fit around the ball that makes for a smoother, quieter and more secure towing experience.

Grease fittings simplify maintenance.Honestly i feel short changed the welds should really be 100% across regardless of whether necessary or not. Some oil so it didnt rust during shipping would of also been appreciated but again not end of the world. The welds appear to be robotic if they're by hand they did an awesome job.of what was done but again, for the time to finish the seams wouldnt of been a real big deal on the production side, but i sure do appreciate the capacity its rated and i plan on using it to its fullest. Thanks again

This is a well made coupler. I use it on a custom made trailer that hauls backhoe and excavator daily. The lock/unlock mechanism is easy to use.

The insert came, shipping was fast and packaging excellent, but here's the rub, it will not fit into the sleeve. It looks just like the one that slip out and the hitch part looks super, but it is probably a sixteenth in circumference too large. Will not fit into the sleeve without lot of grinding. Grrrrr!

Fast shipping. Wish tube was a little longer but otherwise great. I had to drill out holes to a larger size for my pin on my trailer, this metal is heavy. Took awhile with the wrong tools to get the job done. Bought because of the ease of the hitch and believe me it didn't let me down. I would like to be able to purchase just the hitch for replacements on my other gooseneck trailers. By far the best hitch I have on any of my trailers. Haven't had a load on it to see how it does but have hooked it up and drove around to check if it would do ok. I replaced a old sloppy wore out hitch with this one and I assure you it will not be the last one I buy. Service has been tops with this company and feel very comfortable buying from them. This was my first time going through them as I try and buy local. I just couldn't get this hitch off my mind. They keep you updated all the way from start to delivery. I loved how it shows who is actually hands on doing tasks, very personal. I felt as if I were a customer who spends thousands a month with this company and it was only my first time. I would give more stars buy only have 5 to choose. This place is a 10 out of 10 in my book, thank you for being such a great company to do business with.

Great, well built product and support. I had several questions about this product and someone from their technical support team promptly responded multiple times until all of my questions had been answered. By far the best bang for the $$$. It would have been nice if it had come pre-painted or at least primed but the decals had peel off covers so you could simply paint it the color of your choice and then peel off the covers and it looks great. Very well built and sturdy product. Can't ask for more.

Excellent product and service. I replaced the hitch on my 36 ft PJ due to hole ripping out. I made a modification to the hitch to reinforce the hole as shown in pictures.

I had a fixed neck on my 32' cattle trailer and with the newer trucks the ball sits so high that my front axle on the trailer was barely touching the ground. After replacing the fixed hitch with the bx1 my trailer rides level. It does exactly what I was hoping it would do!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Would not have been able to use trailer without it truck was to tall. Tons of misalignment is allowed for hooking up. If etrailer was smart they would sell the pin to lock the latch with the receiver. Can't use standard hardware because clearance is tight. Has to be the correct oddball Lynch pin. If they do sell it, make it like other sites 'customers frequently bought with this...'

The BulldogBX1 gooseneck coupler was sent to me in a very timely manner and is very well built the mearsurements were perfect and is a perfect fit. Installation was a breeze. I am converting from fifth wheel to this bulldog gooseneck coupler.This product is being used on our 42ft. homemade triple axle Toyhauler our total weight will be around 20,000 lbs. I bought a 2017 Ford F250 which was higher than my 2011. I replaced a different bulldog hitch with this on my cattle trailer and was able to get more adjustment to completely level my trailer. I actually only used the insert. I really like the lock! The cupped design also makes it easy to go on the ball. I got a great product at a great price! Thanks guys!

There is not a locking load bearing pin manufactured to Bulldog's knowledge that fits these types of tubes. People usually steal the trailer and not the tube (unfortunately for me the idiots stole my tube and not the trailer). Standard coupler locks are 1/4" shank usually, and the end of the load bearing pin has a .20" hole for the retainer pin. Bulldog sees no reason why it couldn't be drilled out to support a 1/4" coupler lock that will fit on the end of the 3/4" diameter load bearing pin. I have not yet performed this modification of the load bearing pin, but will upload pics once complete.
