Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches. Now, this gas strut is going to be a replacement lift support for your boat hatch, storage compartment, or a similar lid. So if your original strut is worn out or if the hatch is getting harder to lift or maybe it won't stay supported properly, this is designed to take its place. The main thing to know is that this particular gas strut, from center to center, is going to be about 26 inches, maybe slightly over 26 inches when it's fully extended as we have it here.
And then this does have a 40-pound compression force rating. And this is going to connect to eight millimeter ball studs. So those three measurements, length, force, and socket size, are going to be the most important things to match up to your existing setup. When installed, this strut's going to help assist the hatch as you open it. And it's also going to control the closing motion so the lid doesn't just slam shut.
This is made from annealed steel with a corrosion-resistant coating. So that's going to be useful on a boat because, of course, it's designed to hold up better around moisture and salt water. But it's going to be a straightforward install and it's going to work well as that replacement that you are looking for. It's a good idea to replace gas struts in pairs, if that's your particular application, because if you only replace one and the other one maybe isn't up to snuff but you're using it anyway, that could possibly damage the hinge of the item you have these installed on. I think that's going to wrap up our look today.
And again, they call me Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Still working great.Does not seem to be falling like other ones did.Do not know if because I went to a 10 lb over stock or just a better strut. But I will be replacing the other ones with these.
