Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a quick look at the Taylor Made Gas Strut. This is going to be a 12 inch long, 20 pound force, gas strut replace one that's gone bad on your compartment door, whether that's on your boat, or your RV, or on your vehicle of any type. This is going to be the replacement that you need to make sure that that door is held up and not bonking you in the head when you're trying to load in equipment or get stuff out.So it's pretty simple, it does have a ball and socket style end. So it's going to go over a socket stud. So you can see those here, the socket style on either end. Again this measures 12 inches long, that's going to go from the center of each attachment point to the same spot on either side.
So from center to center, or from really the top of that attachment point to the other, it's about 12 inches there, inaudible 00:00:57 kind of hard to see. And that's going to be when it's extended. So it's going to be the easiest spot to measure on your compartment as well as when that door is extended out.Again, it has 20 pounds of compression force. It does just come as a single strut. The housing is made out of a corrosion resistant or has a corrosion resistant coating, so it will work even in saltwater applications.
It shouldn't rust out up on you. And the construction is also a heat treated steel, so nice and durable, you don't have any issues with it coming undone. This does thread on and off, so that does help you to dial in where that little socket is located. If your attachment points are a little at an angle or maybe a little off from 12 inches, you do have a little bit of adjustment on the end there. But that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the Taylor Made Gas Strut for your boat or RV. I hope this video has been helpful.
Thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.
