Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the gas strut. This is going to be a replacement for a worn out strut on your compartment door, a basement door, a boat deck, an outboard motor door. Really any compartment that you need a new gas strut for. This is kind of a small one. This is going to be a 10 inch long strut.
That's going to give you 40 pounds of force. So it holds up a pretty heavy door for such a small little struck here. That measurement is taken from the center of each of those attachment points. So from center to center it's 10 inches, you can see that there. Center of each of those mounting holes, roughly about 10 inches. These are going to be blade style ends.
So they're going to match up with hardware that goes through them, and then onto your compartment or the door, it is going to be a heat treated steel. So it's going to be very nice and durable, pretty simple ends. So they can just slide onto the studs of your hatch or your door. Again, just this one strut has the compression force of 40 pounds. And that's about all there is to it for our look at the tailor made Marine gas stretch.
I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. If not, we do have a lot of other lengths and strengths here at etrailer.com. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
