Video Transcript for Beginner’s Guide to Installing the WeatherTech HP 3rd Row Rear Auto Floor Mat on a 2023 GMC Yukon XL

I'm Matt with Etrailer. If you got a 2023 GMC Yukon XL and you have a lot of kids and they track a lot of dirt in your vehicle and you wanna try to keep things a lot cleaner, then the WeatherTech third row floor mats are gonna be a great option for you. So let's check 'em out. What's great about this is most Yukons don't come with any floor mats in the third row, like your second row. So having some protection back here is gonna be great because a lot of times when kids are going outside, they're playing, they're getting in some dirt, snow, water, all types of stuff. You're probably gonna wanna try to keep a lot of that out.

And this mats gonna do a great job at doing that because it's not only gonna help protect this back area, but also the area in between your two second row seats. And really going off of that, what I like about this is the way this is contoured, the fit inside our vehicle is very a custom fit. As you can see, we're going right around our seats, but we're not blocking anything or impeding their movement. And we even get a little bit of these sidewalls. These sidewalls are gonna help catch and keep any debris on this mat.

What I really do like too, is there's gonna be a spot that goes underneath our second row seating and that's gonna protect this too 'cause a lot of times people will like to put their feet underneath here and a lot of dirt and grime can get underneath your seats. And looking at the backside, you notice we even have a higher sidewall. That's where a lot of your heels are gonna be sitting and it's gonna help prevent a lot of that grime from getting underneath here. What's also gonna help keep your feet clean is gonna be these areas that are raised, that's gonna help keep your feet from getting that dirt, grime back on your shoes. I've talked a lot about how this is gonna prevent any debris from getting inside your vehicle, but at some point you are gonna have to clean these.

And when you do, I recommend trying to vacuum or get it some of that debris off first, if there's a lot of it. Or if you have these spills, wipe it up with a paper towel or a rag, and that's gonna make this process a lot easier. Now when you do go to take it out, it is gonna be kind of difficult because these are pretty flexible and they're pretty big. While they are really good at giving that full coverage, they're kind of difficult to get out. So I'll show you what I mean, I'm gonna step in here.

Now, I'm gonna try to remove this and treat this like if I had anything in here. I just wanna walk over to the other side, prep this up. And you can see way underneath there, where we're getting that great coverage, is kind of hard to get out. And you can see if you had any or a lot of debris on here, that's gonna fall right out of here. But once you get it to this point and hold it like this, then this might be one of your best options to do like this. And then just try to shape that excess out. That's the nice thing about the Yukon being kind of big. You can kind of walk up in there like that and shake it out, wipe it off with a rag, hose it down, and then let it dry out. And then you can put it in there as good as new. And part of what was making it hard to get out too is gonna be these nibs on the back. These are great for helping it stay in place so it doesn't slide around, but when you have to take it out, it can be kind of difficult to do. But personally, I really like them for not sliding around. What I also like about this is how flexible it is. As you can see, this moves around pretty easy. It's not gonna fight you too much. And that's great for kids too because some floor mats are kind of rigid and if a kid is getting in there, they're usually not really caring where their feet are sitting. And what's gonna happen is their foot's gonna rest and sit on this and it's gonna learn its shape. Now with this type of material, since it is more flexible, it's gonna be less likely to learn that bad habit of a shape.
