Plug-and-play custom harness gets turn and brake signals on your towed car with no hardwiring or splicing, and no effect on your warranty. The built-in diodes protect your car from electrical feedback.

A combined lighting system, or 2-wire system, uses the same light bulb to signal both braking and turning. (In other words, the car signals a turn by flashing the brake light.)
A separate lighting system, or 3-wire system, has the brake signal and the turn signal light up independently of each other. Typically, the turn signal is amber.
To keep the separate lighting system on your car functioning properly while you're flat towing, add a wiring converter (118158 - sold separately) and 2 additional diodes.
If the engine is off and your car's brake lights illuminate when you press the brake pedal, you need to install a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) with this kit. Without a relay, your car's brake signal will override the turn signal sent by the RV when you are slowing down to make a turn, creating a potentially dangerous situation. Other drivers will see that you're slowing down, but not that you're making a turn. With a brake light relay, you can signal both and travel safely.

I purchased this wiring for my 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee, to flat tow behind my motor home. It works exactly as advertised, and for the most part it was easy to install. My only complaint is that the wires that run from the left tail light to the right side were way too short. I had to add about 3 ft of wire to make it work. But once that was complete it was a pretty simple installation. It's very clean! I mounted the plug under the bumper and behind the license plate so it's completely unnoticeable. Then I purchased a 6 ft extension to go from the plug to the motor home. I would recommend this kit for it's simplicity. And it uses all factory style connectors, so you don't have to cut any of the factory wiring in the vehicle.
The package had everything I needed to convert my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee to enable me to flat tow it and have running, brake and signal lights. I had to cut the flat 4 way plug off and attach it to my 6-way plug that I already had on my tow bar. Overall it was a nice install.
Straight forward and easy to follow instructions. Was a little difficult locating on site. Ended up getting part number from manufacture and entering into etrailer web site, Good find wiring can be install professional looking.

Product works well. Only down side is attachment of the plug to vehicle.
There could be a better way to mount it.
Installing it wasn't to bad, took about 5,6 hrs, works great.
