Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch - RP30075

  • Sliding Fifth Wheel
  • Reese
  • Above Bed Rails
  • 16000 lbs GTW
  • Standard - Double Jaw
  • Double Pivot
  • 11 Inch Fore/Aft Travel
  • 4000 lbs Vertical Load
  • 15 - 18 Inch Tall

Fifth-wheel trailer hitch provides excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact with a 2-jaw latching system. Non-binding, round-tube slider helps to eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. Rails and installation kit sold separately.

Features:

  • 2-Jaw locking system provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models
    • Less rattle
    • Greater security
  • Round-tube slider provides clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds
    • Prevents trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during sharp, slow-speed turns
    • Inhibits binding and provides smooth operation
  • 4-Way pivoting head eases hookup on unlevel ground
  • 3" Height adjustment
  • Wide stance offers excellent stability
  • Black powder coat finish resists corrosion
  • Locking handle has cushioned grip
  • Above-bed rails and mounting kit sold separately
    • Fits Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails
    • Cut installation time in half by using a vehicle-specific bracket kit instead of the universal kit

Specs:

  • Gross towing weight: 16,000 lbs
  • Vertical load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Installed hitch height (including rails): 15" - 18"
  • Travel: 11" front to back
  • 5-Year limited warranty

Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit pickups with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside bed. A minimum 13" extended trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Round-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

GREAT GREAT GREAT EXPERIENCE AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES WITH THIS WEB SITE.....PRODUCT TO PRICING TO SERVICE.....

by:

Excellent quality products from Reese along with great service and pricing from e-trailer. I did run into some availability issues from the manufacturer with my initial order but Kelsey informed me quickly so we could modify my order. My order was shipped very promptly as promised. Thank you Kelsey for the amazing customer service!

by:

Installation went as printed, took two of us 4 hrs. instead of 2, but I am a perfection freak, centered within 1/32" . Have not used it yet, but will be shortly. Installed to specs provided. Will purchase next hitch from etrailer, Did not call for help, but good to know they were there if needed.

by:

Worked perfectly for my application, installation was easy and it has worked with no issues.

I had only one issue with the hitch within the year. The 2-Jaw locking system handle detached from the jaws and I could not disconnect from the camper. After some ingenuity I did get the hitch disconnected. After troubleshooting I found that the E-Clip External Retaining Ring came off allowing the lever to detach from the jaws. I installed a new clip so far so good.

by:

Product is as it was described. Straight forward installation. Only problem I had was minor shipping damage. The ear of the 5th wheel plate was bent from it being dropped I would guess. Better packaging would've solved this...

by:

once i finally got the bottom platform to fit it went together quite well. It is really heavy for a 74 year old to wrestle around but i have a 40 year old son to help. Have never had to slide it back to back the fifth wheel up but have not had any close quarters to deal with. I would imagine that one of these made out of aluminum would be really expensive and probably not as strong.

by:

I like fifth the wheel operation and it has easy setup.

by:

Awesome customer service and fast delivery. I will use etrailer in the future

excellent service & fith wheel thanks so much .

by:

This product gets a three based on shipping condition only. etrailer customer service and shipping time was excellent as usual. The shipment arrived 2 days after the order was placed, as promised. However, as others have noted, the product packing is poor. The boxes arrived with significant damage resulting in cosmetic damage to several parts. I haven't put the hitch to use yet but I am assuming it will work correctly. I will leave a followup after I use it.

by:

Arrived yesterday, box with hitch was broken, UPS driver said he taped it up. All parts look good. Plastic bag with small parts was torn open, 2 small parts missing, I can get them locally. I understand that there heavy Just need to be packaged better. Otherwise all ok.

by:

The hitch arrived nicely packed in two boxes. Very easy to assemble and install on my existing bed rails. I took the RV out for a first run with the hitch, and it performed as advertised. It was a no fuss transaction and the hitch arrived on-time!

by:

I damage my old hitch on Wednesday and ordered this one and it came very fast had it in on Saturday afternoon and was able to make my east bound trip.
As always etrailer came through for me again. Thank You

by:

Nice ride with this hitch . I was kind of on the fence about the pivoting but I’m good with .

by:

Ordered this hitch for my 2014 Chevy,it came in two boxes and was put together on the work bench in no time at all. and I also ordered the custom rail kit RP50064-58. Just in time for summer camping.

by:

Love the hitch. Hooks up easily and solid. Gives plenty of clearance. Only downside is it’s very noisy and you really feel the trailer. But for the price and weight it’s still 5 stars. Going to go up to a highway payload truck and will be getting the B&W companion for that. Not a reflection of the performance of this hitch though

by:

I like the pin being surrounded by the jaws instead of just a bar across the back of the pin. The 16K seems to hold the pin tighter and helping to reduce chucking while towing. I had a slider due to when I bought this last 5th wheel, it was kind of forced onto me saying they couldn't let me leave without a slider with a short bed truck. But after I got home, I ordered a Reece Sidewinder, of which I had one on our first 5th wheel back in 2007. This is my third sidewinder and wouldn't pull without one. The Reece 16K hooks up good and towing without the worry of turning to sharp when getting fuel are days gone by, thanks to these 2 combined together.
The first Reece 16k I received had something just not right and I was having a heck of a time trying to hitch up. Sent Nicole here at eTrailer a picture of the jaws a little misaligned. Nicole got back with me quickly and we had a short conversation, and just a few days later I received a replacement head. That's service!!

by:

The first hitch arrived damaged in shipping. The dent was minor but it was on the receiver plate so I asked to return it.

A lot of vendors would have pushed back on an 89 pound box being sent back but the etrailer team set up the return and shipment of the new hitch. No problem.

The new hitch arrived in good shape this afternoon. It took me about a half hour to install with normal tools and a torque wrench. Directions were clear, the parts fit, and I appreciate having the knowledgeable people at etrailer to fall back on.

There are a lot of things owners can fix themselves with the support of quality products, knowledge, and great customer service etrailer delivers.

by:

Product is good quality as it appeared --5th wheel itself was not delivered with rest of kit--arrived three days later. Installation easy.
Installation kit fits perfect-easy installation. Only variable was I had pre-existing air springs , so I had to mark and drill the frame brackets and install the air springs on the outside of the brackets--no big deal--worked out fine

by:

I've used this hitch in an 08 f250 and a 15 ram 2500. All I had to do was purchase a set of frame brackets. The fact this hitch can be easily moved among tricks is great. Easy hitching and unhitching. Easy to use. Easily adjust heights. And the slide option being available is great.

by:

Delivery was fast and packaged well.
This
is my first 5th wheel hitch and has worked great for me pulling a shorter camper with a long bed 3/4 ton truck. Nice height adjustability to match the truck with the trailer. Good solid feel while pulling.

by:

I purchased the Reese dual jaw slider and install bracket kit. Everything arrived in three days in perfect condition. After watching the install video and reviewing the enclosed instructions I installed the assembly myself. It took approximately 4 hours . As you can see I also did additional steps, cutting the rubber bed mat to fit around the rails. Also undercoating the brackets to blend in the wheel wells. Etrailer is definitely the place to go for all your RV needs.

by:

I spent a whole day installing the Reese 16k hitch and custom quick mounting rails in a 2020 F150. Video was great and I advise you to watch it a couple of times before installing. Paper instructions not so good. If you have a 36 gallon fuel tank, I recommend you to do this install on a lift. I do not recommend you to install on your garage floor especially if you are 67 years old, still sore from laying on my back. You must remove spare tire and heat shield. I installed with tires on and very tight working around large fuel tank area. Going on a test drive to see if everything holds together.

  • Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500
There are a couple of issues that you need to be aware of. First, you need to consult the owners manual for the gross combined vehicle weight rating for the truck. From what I could find, the towing capacity of the truck does not come very close to 30,000 pounds. Next, I do have a solution for installing a 5th wheel hitch and gooseneck in your truck. First, for a 5th wheel trailer hitch and install kit, I recommend the Reese 16K round tube slider, # RP30075 which will offer you the most...

  • Can a 5th Wheel Slider be Used to Tow a Trailer in the Rear Maneuvering Postion
The purpose of a slider is to make it easier to maneuver a trailer into parking situations, when the vehicle is at a very low speed. A slider is not to be used in the rearward position while towing the trailer. The slider was not designed for that and it would be unsafe to use it that way. The weight of your trailer would be too far back on your truck bed to allow you to be able to safely maneuver and brake your trailer in the maneuver position. I attached an FAQ article on fifth-wheel...

  • Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford F-250 and 2012 Heartland Elkridge Trailer
For your new 2012 Ford F-250 and Heartland 5th wheel trailer, I recommend going with a 16K Reese hitch which will give you plenty of room to spare as far as capacity and will provide you with years of service. To me a standard bed is an 8 foot bed. That would mean you would need the fixed version, # RP30047. But if your bed is 6-3/4 feet long, you would need a slider. The slider that offers the most travel and most clearance for making tight turns is the round tube slider found with the...

The RBW UHS-88-15, fifth-wheel hitch is not compatible with the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, item # RP30035 though. You will need to contact an RBW dealer to get the proper installation hardware for the UHS-88-15 hitch. • Can a Revolution Pin Box be Used Instead of a Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch on a 2013 GMC Sierra
A Revolution or Sidewinder (they are the same. Revolution is the name given to it when it comes OEM on a trailer) can be used in place of a slider hitch even when a Sidewinder is not required. It will provide plenty of clearance and you will not have to get in and out of the truck to slide the hitch back. If the trailer you have can accept a Sidewinder then it is definitely a viable option. The Sidewinder fits on the trailer so a hitch will be needed either way. With a Sidewinder, you...

  • How To Install Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch On a 2015 Ford F-150
In order to install the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 on a 2015 Ford F-150 you'll want to use the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50087-58 which doesn't require drilling into the frame. That said, you may have turning clearance issues with a short bed application therefore a better option would be the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Round Tube Slider part # RP30075. • Fifth Wheel Slider Hitch Recommendation for 2006 Chevy Silverado Short Bed
Here is the formula to use to determine if you have clearance to make tight turns: (A + B) - C = Clearance A = Distance from the gooseneck ball to the truck cab B = Offset used (0 since you don't have one) C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2. (42+0) - 48 = -6 inches. So you would not have enough clearance and realistically there isn't a gooseneck offset adapter that would give you the needed clearance. Only solution is to replace gooseneck hitch in truck bed with fifth...

First, you would only need a sliding trailer hitch if your 2006 GMC Sierra has the 6-1/2 foot bed. For an 8 foot bed you would use a fixed 5th wheel hitch. The first item you will need is an installation kit. I recommend the custom installation kit # RP50064-58. It will fit 6-1/2 foot or 8 foot beds. Custom installation kits take less time to install than universal kits and they require less drilling. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing...

However you still may need a slider hitch to be able to make 90 degree turns. It depends on how wide the trailer is at the cutouts, which is very hard to measure accurately.
