This cat-back exhaust system improves engine performance and durability by boosting horsepower and torque. Its technologically advanced, Mandrel bent tubing and straight-through muffler allow the exhaust to flow more freely through the system.
Features:
Specs:
The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems have Mandrel bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter throughout every curve. This curvature leads to decreased back pressure.
MagnaFlow mufflers have a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through the muffler, end to end, with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts.
Together, the Mandrel bent tubes and straight-through muffler increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decrease exhaust gas temperature. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside vehicles. All materials are made with 100 percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installation. It includes a lifetime warranty.
This dyno chart displays the differences in power and torque between OEM (blue) and MagnaFlow (red) exhaust systems. The darker red and blue lines represent the torque measurements; the lighter red and blue lines represent the power measurements.

Today on our 2003 Chevy Tahoe, we'll be installing the MagnaFlow stainless steel cat-back exhaust system, part number MF15666. Now before we install the new MagnaFlow exhaust system, we'll go ahead and take a listen to the manufacturer's or current exhaust system. Next we'll go ahead and begin our install by disconnecting the exhaust here at the flange behind the catalytic converter. To do that, we'll remove the two nuts off the studs. We'll then remove the two rubber isolators from our exhaust pipe and tail pipe. To remove the rubber isolators, use a pry bar, pliers, or exhaust hanger removal tool.
With that done, our exhaust system is loose and we're ready to remove it from the vehicle. Now we've found that in this particular vehicle it can be very difficult to remove this as a one-piece unit, so we'll go ahead and cut it in half first, and then remove it. Now that the old exhaust system is out of the way, we're ready to install the new MagnaFlow exhaust system. Next you'll notice that when we removed the two studs from the exhaust flange, that the stud broke. This isn't a big deal, although it will add a little bit of time to the installation.
We'll need to drill out the stud using a step drill process. Then we'll replace the studs with 5/16 bolts and nuts that are not provided with the exhaust system. Now that our stud is drilled out, we'll take the front pipe and place it into position, allowing the flanges to meet together. Next, we'll move back and install the metal hangar into the rubber isolator. We can take the new bolt, pass it through the hole, and put the nut on the other side.
We'll then take the nut that came off the other side, and reinstall it on the stud. Now we can go ahead and tighten down our hardware, securing the exhaust pipe to the flange. Next, we'll take one of our clamps and slide it onto the exhaust pipe. Then we can put the muffler over the exhaust pipe and slide it into position. As we do this, make sure the cutouts in the pipe slide over the exhaust pipe.
We'll leave it there and move to our tailpipe, taking our tailpipe and feeding it over the axle, forward towards the muffler. We'll take our second clamp, sliding it onto the muffler, and then the tailpipe into the muffler. Next, we'll go ahead and install the two remaining exhaust hangers into the rubber isolators. Now with our exhaust system hanging in position, we'll go ahead and line up the muffler and the tailpipe before we secure them. Once in place, we'll go ahead and tighten down the clamps, starting at the front, moving our way back. We'll want to make sure that we get the clamps nice and tight to ensure that we have a tight seal around the pipe. This will help to avoid any leaks. Now that we have the exhaust system in position, we'll go ahead and remove the protective cover from the finish coated tailpipe. Once we've checked for leaks, we can now go ahead and listen to the new MagnaFlow exhaust. And notice the deep, throaty sound, while not being too loud. With that, it will complete the install of the MagnaFlow stainless steel cat-back exhaust system, part number MS15666, on our 2003 Chevy Tahoe.

So during highway driving the drone is at a minimum? I have kids too and we take a lot of family trips. My concern is the drone. thanks,

Response to B. Kallan~ Highway noise is quite bearable, unless youre knee deep in your pedal. Going uphill it will be much louder, as it will with any acceleration. Constant highway speeds will result in a nice, mellow sound. Hope this helps!

Easy install because it is tailored to the trailblazer ss. Sounds good from the start but gets better over time. A little louder than stock but still a quiet throaty tone in the cabin at cruising speeds. Would highly recommend.
