Features to know about

Quick-Change Lever Selector for Fast Tie-Downs

durabilt lever quick select

Every job is different, but fumbling with a stubborn binder doesn't have to be part of your workday. The 3-position lever on this ratchet binder is engineered for speed and total control, giving you an edge when time and weather aren't on your side. Instead of wrestling with a single-speed mechanism, just flick the lever to the position you need.

  • Extension (Out): When you're setting up, this setting lets you open the binder quickly, extending the barrel to reach your chain hooks.
  • Take-Up (In): Once hooked, snap the lever into take-up mode and start tensioning. Every click tightens down the chain, locking your load in with full control and without overworking your arms.
  • Free-Spin: Use this mode to quickly spin the barrel and take up or remove slack before you start tightening, or after the chain is already loose. Free-spin should never be used to release a chain under load.

Video Transcript for Review of Durabilt Chain Binders - Ratchet Chain Binder - DU89NR

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Durabilt Dura-Fold ratchet chain binder with handle, and it's going to work with 5/16-inch to 3/8-inch chains. Now, folks, this has a safe working load limit of 7,100 pounds and a proof load limit of 14,200 pounds. Now, the handle length here, total is about 14-1/4 inches long when it's fully folded out like you see here. So that's the neat thing with this particular chain binder. If you don't already know, this handle can fold down out of the way when you're not using it.

That makes it a lot easier to store in a toolbox, and those kind of things. A very smaller footprint. Most of the other ones, the handle is permanently, you know, one piece, and it's locked out long like this, and it's just kind of awkward sometimes to put it away. The other neat thing with this one is, you have one, two, three different settings. So obviously, if you have it farthest, left or right, you can obviously go tighter or looser.

And then the middle one would be like a free spool. So if you get it right here in the middle, then you can free-spool this looser, tighter, whatever. You can kind of see here that it's going longer as I spin that. And then, of course, the other one would be to ratchet it back up. (binder clatters) So very nice design.

Again, you can pull the handle all the way. And then, right here, you have like a heavy-duty, hard, rubberized, kind of coating, which I like because, one, it's going to protect your gear. It's a little easier to hold everything ergonomically. But you don't have to worry about beating stuff and chipping paint and those kind of things as well. So, a very nice chain binder.

Again, using it to secure your heavy equipment to trailer, agricultural, industrial things. And you can also lock this with a padlock, if you so choose. So you can put a padlock through the hole in the side, right here and here. (binder clanks) I don't know if you can see that. And then that would keep it to where no one could then tighten or loosen it. So it's another safety thing, and also, a, you know, secure thing as far as keeping people honest and those kind of things. Well, folks, I think that's going to wrap it up for our quick look together. If you have questions about this product or anything else here at etrailer.com, reach out to us. And also, I can't wait to see photos of your equipment on your trailer using this chain binder. Have a good one.
