These custom-fit tie-downs mount directly to your truck’s frame, the strongest part of your vehicle, to keep your camper steady even on long drives or rough roads. By distributing the camper’s weight evenly and lowering the center of gravity, they help you avoid the sway and body roll that can happen with bed- or bumper-mounted systems. The result is a smoother, safer ride where your truck handles like it should while the camper stays firmly in place.
When you’re not hauling, you don’t want bulky hardware hanging off your truck. With these tie-downs, the arms remove easily and the brackets stay tucked up under the frame where they’re barely visible. That means your truck keeps its clean look without sacrificing strength or convenience when it’s time to load the camper again.

Setup is straightforward thanks to a bolt-on design that uses existing holes in your frame—no cutting or major modifications needed. The tie-downs mount tight for minimal loss of ground clearance, so you don’t have to worry about dragging when driving off-road or through uneven spots. Each kit includes two front tie-downs, two rear tie-downs, and installation hardware for a complete setup.
The arms are rustproof aluminum, and the receiver brackets are stainless steel with a high-impact powder coat finish for extra protection against weather and road salt. This heavy-duty construction stands up to years of travel without weakening from corrosion or wear.
Each arm features two pin holes so you can set how far it extends to clear fenders or sidewalls. Two anchor holes on each plate let you fine-tune the angle of your turnbuckles (sold separately) for a balanced hold that resists shifting from multiple directions. This adjustability keeps your camper firmly positioned mile after mile.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the TorkLift Talon Custom Front Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs. Now, these are a custom fit part, they are designed to fit the 2014 to 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks, and without either a board or a step underneath the truck bed or cab. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this will include the two front aluminum tie-down inserts right here, the two steel frame brackets, the rubber covers, all the hardware you need, the extra bracket you need to install this onto your vehicle. Does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this installs.
Now, these tie-downs will provide attachment points at the front of your truck for securing your bed-mounted camper to your vehicle. These are for the front, we do also offer rear tie-downs, which are sold separately on our website. Basically, one tie-down will go on the driver's side, the other one will go on the passenger's side, and then if you notice on the inserts, they have two holes on these inserts, and that is what'll allow you to connect your turn buckles from your camper to the truck, and it don't interfere with anything on your vehicle. And as we mentioned, these inserts are an aluminum construction. Also, what I'm gonna do is take one of these out just to show you.
On the insert itself, if you noticed, does have two different holes here. The two different holes on the shank allow you for different width campers, so if you go to insert this to the first hole, it's for a wider camper, if you insert it to the second hole, it's for a little bit narrower camper, so it gives you a range of campers this will work on. And what's nice about this, when you install these, you feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, and it is the safest way to haul a truck camper, it'll prevent vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions. This will let you haul your truck camper confidently by attaching your tie-downs to the strongest part of the truck, which will be the frame. The vehicle manufacturers do recommend that all full high-sliding camper bodies to be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure.
The frame-mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing the camper to the truck's base instead of its bed, which will better distribute the weight and keep the setup from being too top heavy. To install this, it is a fast no drill installation, secures your truck camper to your truck. It'll also maintain the value of your truck and prevent rust and bed damage by avoid drilling into your truck bed or bumper. As we mentioned, they are a custom fit for your vehicle, has a driver's side and a passenger's side bracket, and these brackets right here will fit tight to the truck frame, so there's no loss of any ground clearance, perfect for any off-road truck camping. And what's nice is when you're not using these, when you take your inserts out, basically, these will be virtually undetectable when they're not in use, so you'll remove the inserts.
And then what you'll do is take the included rubber covers right here, pop it over that, keep that opening covered, so no dirt or grime gets in there, and then all this will be underneath the vehicle, you won't even know it's there. The hidden design will return your truck to its original look when it's not being use as tie-downs. These parts are a steel construction except for the inserts, which are aluminum construction. They do all have a black powder coat finish on them for durability, and these parts are made in the USA. And again, just to show you, we'll go ahead and install the tie-down, pop off the cover. Once you get the cover off, and again, you just make sure you choose the correct hole for your application, I'm just gonna put it to the furthest one. Line that hole up, then you go to put your pin in there. Slide your pin all the way through, once it goes all the way through, clip it, and that'll hold the insert in place, and then you can attach your turn buckles to the insert. But that should do it for the review on the TorkLift Talon Custom Front Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs..

It definitely is safe the way you have them, Paul! In a perfect world, the turn buckles would be perfect vertical, but this an imperfect world and not all campers have the attachment points in the same place. If you take a look at some of the installed pictures on the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK page, you can see most of them are at an angle. It's perfectly normal. Are you running any suspension enhancement on your Silverado?

Install looks great, Megan! Especially for it only taking two hours! They were moving. : ) Happy we confirmed what you found as well. Tie downs can be a pain in the rear with all the options out there. Now I do have to ask though, have you guys thought about any kind of suspension enhancement for the rear axle? It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the back is sagging a bit in your last picture.

A year later and I would not do anything different. Absolutely the best system available especially paired with the fast guns. The camper is solid mounted and does not move. Yet can still be off loaded in just a few minutes. Remember good stuff isn’t cheap and cheap stuff isn’t good.
