Features to know about

Stable Handling on Every Mile: Frame-Mounted Strength

For long trips or rough roads, you want your camper to feel like part of the truck. These custom frame-mounted tie-downs secure directly to the strongest part of your rig, spreading the camper’s weight evenly across the frame. That lowers the center of gravity so you don’t end up with a top-heavy setup that sways or rocks in crosswinds. The result is a smoother, more confident drive where your camper stays put and your truck handles naturally.

Easy Setup Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Design

These tie-downs bolt onto pre-existing holes in your truck’s frame, so installation is quick and clean with little to no drilling. The custom-fit design mounts tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance, keeping everything tucked up and out of the way. It’s a solid setup you can install yourself with basic tools and be road-ready fast.

Strong and Protected: Powder-Coated Steel Build

Made from sturdy steel and finished with a high-impact powder coat, these tie-downs are built to handle years of use on the road. The durable coating adds an extra layer of protection against weather, road salt, and debris so your tie-downs hold their strength and good looks over time.

Clean Look When Not in Use: Removable Arms

When you’re not hauling, simply remove the arms and the brackets are nearly invisible beneath your truck. They stay tucked close to the frame so you keep a clean look without bulky hardware showing. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference when your truck doubles as daily transportation.

Close-up view of TorkLift frame-mounted tie-downs installed under a truck, showing how the brackets remain nearly invisible when not in use.

Adjustable Fit for Secure Connection: Dual Anchor Holes

Each arm includes two pin holes so you can fine-tune how far it extends from the body. This helps clear fenders or sidewalls and lets you set the perfect reach for your turnbuckles. With two anchor holes on each attachment plate, you can offset your connections for better stability from multiple angles—keeping your camper locked down tight no matter where you travel.

Video Transcript for Why Dan Chose the TorkLift Tie Downs - Neighbor Review

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here from etrailer, and I'm with Dan. And Dan recently had his new truck in. He got airbags installed. And you also have an in-bed camper, probably why you have the airbags. Yes.

And so you've towed with an in-bed camper before with a previous truck, correct Yep. I have a 1996 GMC diesel. And I've carried this all over the place, up through the Smoky Mountains, and had a really good time with it. Had a blast. I got a 2000 model Lance Camper, and it's put on a 2025 Chevy 3,500.

I needed to upgrade from a 2,500 to a 3,500. So this thing will carry around. So on your previous Dually that you had, you didn't have the TorkLift tie downs I did not. I had them mounted onto the bumper to tie down to, and also at the beginning of the bed. Now with this, it's all custom fit.

And you went with the aluminum versions, right Yes, I went with the aluminum, because the aluminum, they're pretty sturdy, and I didn't want the metal to rust if I ever take this thing out in the snow and salt and everything. Are there advantages to the TorkLift over kind of the old style that you had it hooked up When I take the TorkLifts out, I can put 'em away and you won't even see that they're attached to the truck. I like to tuck things farther away so I don't bang my leg. Yeah, and you can kind of go back, you can pull those out, and it goes back to that OEM clean look. You have no idea they're even there until you're ready to hook up.

Right. So anything that you would recommend for anyone that has an in bed camper Any, you know, tips, tricks, for in-bed camper driving that you have, you know, over your years I got the tie downs here. I did install these, put 'em in there. And I extended the rods by using all thread rods. Make sure you get the good all thread rods, 'cause some of 'em we inchesre kinda loose when you put 'em in there. And then, yeah. I mean, they are really, really handy. My '96, when I'm driving down the road, it would sway back and forth. And with the Silverado 3,500, I got the airbags in there and the wiring all set up. And it just doesn't move or nothing. It just runs right on down the road. And with the diesel 10 speed transmission, shoot, I just, it just goes. Brad Yeah. Dan It's like it's not even back there. Yeah, and with tying these down, you know, a lot of times people wonder how does it stay in place. And especially, you know, if you're going to kind of mountainous areas or whatever and you're getting ups and downs or hitting bumps, it does have that potential to move. But that's why you have turn buckles. You crank those down, it's gonna keep it all in place. But the big thing is, you know, having a good attachment point. So did you ever have clearance issues with your other one when you hooked it up As far as where the turn buckle's attached, did you have any issues making contact The only issue I would have is if I hooked it on here wrong. Like if I came from the other direction, or this way, I'd have to try to swing it over. Better to unhook the bottom before you unhook the top. Yeah. If you haven't looked at the TorkLift mounting points, these are great. They are custom fit to your vehicle. So it's crucial that you use our fit guide to get the proper trim and model of your truck. Because they're, you know, these aren't gonna work on a Ford. You'd have to get the Ford-specific. But that's what makes these great. They're perfectly set up, you know, as he was saying is once they're out, it goes back to a clean OEM look. They sit proper, they're designed for this, and TorkLift really covers all of the connecting parts to be able to get your in-bed camper to work with your truck. So Dan, thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Great talking to you. You're welcome. Excited to get the brush guard on here and get you out on the road and enjoying it. I need to do some camping. (laughs) That's right, yeah. Hey, summer's coming. Have a good time. Thank you. Thank you very much, appreciate it.

I ordered this kit for my 2018 Ford F150 'Heavy Half' regular cab, long bed pickup. The tie downs came with all the necessary hardware, good instructions, were easy to install with basic tools, and required no drilling. Shipping was very fast. I would absolutely recommend TorkLift tie downs and etrailer.com.

I have not had any issues at all with the tie downs.

by:
2023 Ford F-150
It said no drilling but did require one hole drilled on each side. Otherwise they fit well. From prior experience with a truck camper, I wouldn't drive in the wind without them.

After selling previous truck camper and getting a new truck these tie downs are outstanding. The direct fit for year make model is awesome. Takes the guess work out installation. The install instructions were really good as well as etrailers videos. etrailer is the great providing product install walk thru. The adjustability of these tie downs made my life easier when I picked up my new TLRV 8 foot truck camper.

These tiedowns are designed great and fit function was clearly created by someone who knows not only design but install ! E-trailer is “the” place to buy rv, camper, towing etc products - the install videos are sooooo helpful ! Thx ET !

It definitely is safe the way you have them, Paul! In a perfect world, the turn buckles would be perfect vertical, but this an imperfect world and not all campers have the attachment points in the same place. If you take a look at some of the installed pictures on the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK page, you can see most of them are at an angle. It's perfectly normal. Are you running any suspension enhancement on your Silverado?

@Paul That's what we like to hear! Torklift makes some really solid parts. That camper looks really good on that truck!

They seem stout and were easy enough to install. I added my own 2” square rubber caps to the ends to keep road debris out when they’re not in use, those should be included. For $850 the packaging could use some work. They arrived all banged up, the “high impact powder coat” is worn off in several areas leaving bare steel exposed.

Looks great! What kind of camper do you have?

by:
2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty
I did a lot of research to find the right kind of frame mounts for my dads truck. Lots of local RV places didn't even know what I was looking for, or quoted me for the wrong parts. After I was certain I found the right tie downs, I contacted etrailer customer service chat representative and they were a great help at confirming the parts I found would in fact fit my dads truck. My husband and dad installed them in less than 2 hours. The parts came quickly and in excellent packaging/condition.

Install looks great, Megan! Especially for it only taking two hours! They were moving. : ) Happy we confirmed what you found as well. Tie downs can be a pain in the rear with all the options out there. Now I do have to ask though, have you guys thought about any kind of suspension enhancement for the rear axle? It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the back is sagging a bit in your last picture.

@LazerS Thanks for the reply! The truck is currently stock, but we are getting airbags and new shocks placed on the truck tomorrow. We were told by our local 4 wheel parts the airbags will help lessen the load on the back of the truck with the weight of the camper. Hopefully they gave us the correct information. If you have other suggestions, I am open to hearing them! Thanks!

@Megan Air bags are what I was going to recommend! Great minds think alike. : ) With them being fully adjustable, they are definitely the way to go. They can change the unloaded ride a little, but not nearly as much as some other ways of doing it that are not adjustable. Sounds like you guys are doing everything right to me. Let me know how it goes!

Absolutely the only way to correctly attach your truck camper. Pair these white Fastguns and it’s a great combo. I just went on a 5000 mile trip with my TC and never moved an inch.

A year later and I would not do anything different. Absolutely the best system available especially paired with the fast guns. The camper is solid mounted and does not move. Yet can still be off loaded in just a few minutes. Remember good stuff isn’t cheap and cheap stuff isn’t good.

@Clay Happy to hear the # TL86NR are working well and keeping your setup solid. Paired with the fast gun turnbuckles is about as good as it gets. What type of in bed camper do you have?
by:
1996 Ford F-250 and F-350
Really disappointed for the cost. First of all it says several times in the description that it requires no drilling. That’s not the case at all. I had to drill 12 holes in my truck frame. The bolts included for the top mounting bracket were the incorrect length so I had to purchase longer grade eight bolts to install as suggested by the manufacturer with a lock washer and nut. The cheaped out on spacers (like shown in the directions) and included huge washers and to top it off the slide in mounts were all scraped up and have peeling powder coating. I feel like I got absolutely ripped off.

I love these TorkLift tie downs, and it is great to hear you are liking the quality as well. What kind of truck camper are you going to be running with these?

by:
2011 Chevrolet Silverado
We had a hiccup with my order and it was lost in cyberspace for a day until I called and was able to get it going. Unfortunately, I needed them by Saturday and I ordered them Wednesday. They didn't ship until Thursday afternoon and didn't arrive until Monday. The seller of the camper was kind enough to hold the camper for me, but it was touch and go there for a while.
Installing them was a challenging because the pictures in the guide were difficult to see which slowed the installation down a little. It took 2 of us about 3 hours to install them. Now that they are on the truck with the camper they seem to be working great! The only problem remaining is the front tie downs use a bolt to hold the tie down to the frame and it obstructs the passage, so it will only advance as far as the first pin making the second hole unreachable (it sticks out from the truck a few extra inches and makes the extension wobble up and down until the turnbuckle was installed).
by:
great fit, works great, strong parts, works perfect! etrailer was excellent in making sure I received the correct parts. I highly recommend etrailer, if in doubt, call them, don't try and wing it, they will set you up with the correct parts! I will use etrailer again!

by:
2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Not a good experience so far. Torklift product was defective and they sent the wrong size bolt fish wires. Took 3x as long to install as should have due to wrong size fish wires. Torklift is not very responsive on the solution to the defective part. Torklift did not drill one of the holes in the tie downs

Ordered for 2025 GMC 3500HD to carry our Arctic Fox slide in camper. Kits were shipped right away and arrived in Anchorage in 5 days (as ordered). The tie downs are excellent quality, all hardware arrived with the kit, instructions were "OK", installation on rear tie downs a little tricky, but managed to do ourselves. Looking forward to some great camping adventures. Thanks for the GREAT service!

The product itself is GREAT and fits PERFECTLY. I'd give 5-stars if packaged properly to ensure the paint stayed whole as it left the factory. Instead some of the metal pieces showed up dinged and now will rust prematurely. Customer service is always solid with etrailer.

Second set of Torklift camper tiedown brackets I have purchased. 1999 Dodge 2500 and 2016 Ram 3500. Fit good. No drilling. I would buy again. Good product. (I am a certified ASME, AWS, API, welder and fabricator). No hype, just fact.

Order the kit. This is the second set I have ordered in the last few months. etrailer ships fast and makes sure you can track your shipments. Also notifies you every step of the way. I appreciate the follow through with keeping me informed at when my package will arrive. I tried to buy these direct from the manufacture but they wanted more than etrailer and I had to find back and front sets. They did not sell them in kits.

Also glad the etrailer doesn't play the game of shipping in the lower 48 states only BS, there are 50 official states ins the USA (51 if your counting Alberta)! Plus numerous US territories...
