Curt Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit we're going to be doing a test on the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, that's part number C18115. I already have it loaded up on the Honda Fit just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Anytime you load up anything on the roof of your vehicle, you always want to be sure you leave just enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see here, we've got it in the right spot, we don't have to worry about that problem. We can still open up our rear hath all the way. A few things to know about this roof mounted basket, is it has a sturdy steel tubular construction design to it, it's a little bit boxier than your average roof mounted cargo basket but, that's okay. We're going to be able to carry a lot more cargo.

Thule Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Canyon XT roof mounted cargo basket. That's part #TH859XT. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. A few things to know about this cargo basket, it measures 49in long by 40in wide and 6in deep, here, at the very center. Like putting on anything on the roof of your vehicle, you always want to be sure you leave just enough room so you can still open your rear hatch. Obviously, as you could see, we're not going to have that problem by the way we have it mounted.

Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2016 Honda Fit

Today on our 2016 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino-Rack Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket, and that's part number RMCB. I've already got it loaded up, just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like on the roof of our Honda Fit. It measures 47 inches long, by 35 inches wide, and it's about 5 1/2 inches deep. Now, like any time you're carrying something on your roof, or mounting something on your roof, you want to be sure you leave enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see by the way we have it positioned, we're not going to have that problem. Now, it has 165-pound weight capacity, though you'll want to be sure and check with your Honda Fit to see if your roof can carry that much. You'll need to be sure, with whatever roof rack system you have on there, you have a crossbar spread between 21 and 30 inches.
