Pontiac Trans Sport VanThe Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rake for 2 bikes is a good product. I used it to transport my mountain e-bike. I choose this particular unit because it can handle the weight 2 of bikes (non-e-bikes) and the weight of my e-bike is equivalent to weight of 2 bikes. Note: Must readjust the straps after mounting the bike to the rake.

Way too light duty for what is advertised. It seemed to be made out of 1/2 inch electrical conduit. I would never put three bikes on that rack. I only had two bikes on the rack. While on trip through Idaho the wind was so strong that one of the bikes partially blew off the rack. We traveled 1,800 miles and upon arriving home I actually sawed the bike rack up and threw it away so that no one else would use it and cause an accident. I've already found a different brand that is HEAVY DUTY and I will stick with that brand.

by: Kristi04/06/2025This is definitely more of a 2 bike carrier vs 3 bikes. I had to take the front wheels off two bikes to get three bikes on this carrier. Also, it rubbed the paint off on the trunk of my Subaru legacy.

Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2018 GMC Terrain
Speaker 1: Today our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Halfback two bike rack. That's going to be part number Y02636. As you can see, we already have a bike installed, so let's take a look at some of the features. Starting from the outside, working our way in, you see on either side of these polls we have the Yakima bottle openers, which is on most of their bike racks. We look over here, the cradles, now these cradles are stationary so they don't move at all, but each cradle's going to have these zip strips that help secure your bike to the rack. And each cradle has this nice rubber TP padding.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FullBack Two Bike Rack. That's going to be part number Y02634. As you can see, we already have a bike installed, so let's take a look at some of the features. We'll start from the outside and work our way in. You see, we have the patented Yakima bottle opener on the end of this pole, and on the other side we have an integrated cable locking system for the bike that's installed on the rear of your rack. You simply just pull this out, wrap it around your bike frame, and then you just stick it on the notch right there. You are going to get a set of keys so if when you want to unload your bike, you simply just stick the key in there and twist it, and it's going to unlatch it from the little knob. If we look up here, we see we have two cradles on top.

GMC Terrain Bike Rack Questions
-
- I recommend using the Yakima FullBack 2 # Y02634 or 3 # Y02633 bike rack on your 2024 GMC Terrain. I have personally used this rack and like how easy the arms and support lock into place with the adjustment knobs. I have linked a video below which shows the 2 bike rack used on a Terrain so you can know what to expect.
If you are carrying a hybrid or women's frame bike you will need the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar # Y02531 to secure them to the rack.

- I would be happy to help you. The Saris Bones EX 2 Bike Rack item # SAR83FR you were looking at is a confirmed fit for your 2022 GMC Terrain but it is not the best option. I recommend the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack item # Y02634. The Yakima has cushioned anti-sway cradles, a wide mounting pad to protect the finish of the paint and has adjustable arms too. I have attached an install video for this rack on a 2018 Terrain along with a picture of the rack installed for you to check...

- There are options for getting your 62 lb ebike to the trails using your 2019 GMC Terrain, but a trunk mounted rack like the Thule Passage 3 # TH911XT is not the answer. Even though it has a capacity of 105 lbs, it still isn't recommended using a trunk mounted rack for hauling an electric bike as the capacity is for all 3 bikes loaded up and not just one bike. E-bikes need a platform style rack to be hauled. Your best option is to get a hitch like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Hitch...

- Yes, the Malone RunWay 3-Bike Rack # MPG2142 is a confirmed fit for your 2019 GMC Terrain.
It will hold two adult bikes and a child's bike, though the child's bike will need an adapter bar in order to give it a horizontal mounting point (this is true for all trunk-mounted bike racks). The adapter bar you need is the Malone Bike Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # MPG2165.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of...

- According to Saris, their # SAR43FR Guardian 3 bike trunk mounted bike rack is compatible with your 2019 GMC Terrain. Strictly speaking, nothing else is required however if you're planning on carrying women's bikes or bikes that have a top tube that isn't more or less parallel with the ground, you'll want to use an adapter bar like # 64005. The adapter bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, providing a level attachment point for the bike which...

- It really depends on the bike frame as some womens bikes have top tubes that are at really extreme angles (definitely need adapter bar) and others the angle is pretty mild which you'd be okay to load onto the Saris bike rack # SA805BL without a bike frame adapter part # UB01. That said, even the more mild angled frames do tend to load easier with an adapter. The # UB01 is one of the less expensive adapters and is also one of the more easy to use ones as well.

- Glad to hear that you are enjoying the Thule Passage # TH911XT!
You are correct that nothing is completely "theft-proof" but adding something to discourage theft is a smart idea. I recommend using the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533, which has dual steel cables built-in, for the Passage and then a cable lock like part # e98891 for the bikes. If you want to make it more daunting just add an additional strap or cable.

- Yes, the Thule OutWay 3-bike trunk mount bike rack # TH56BV is listed as a fit for your 2013 GMC Terrain.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would...

- I have a solution for you. The answer is yes you can hang a bike with a ladies frame design on the Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier, # TH911XT, on your 2011 GMC Terrain. You will have to use a bike adapter bar to give your bike a horizontal mounting point to mount to the Thule rack.
You will need # UB01 Bike Adapter Bar. The bar will connect to the seat post and the handle bars. The you will be able to hang and securely mount your bike on the Thule bike rack.

"Just used my new combo bike rack/trailer hitch and it worked great! Actually towed a little smoother then just the plain hitch I had before and the bike rack part is very sturdy and stable - products arrived in a timely manner and packaged well - bravo!"
