I installed a trailer brake kit on my Ford Ranger over a year ago, finding the misc parts and install kit with the help of the etrailer Folks. My truck was rear ended recently, smashing the 7 pin connector, that came as one part number for multiple parts, mounted through the bumper. Calling the etrailer folks, they were able to single out the part I needed without buying the entire install kit again. One five minute phone call and I'm on my way again! Very pleased!

I just had to clip a few wires and it plugged into the 4 prong connector on the van and it works as it should

Perfect . My new Subaru hitch has a flat plate to which the dealership attaché the 4-flat. I used “2 L-brackets” to accommodate the 90 degree bend of the adapter bracket.

The plug is different from original cord. Doesn’t look as good but we’ll see how it works. 1st new cord

It's a bundle of wires with a plug. Hard to make this type of part special above other brands. Price is the big factor. Not quite sure why this one is 50% less cost than some others. But works as expected. Solved the dreaded taillights blinking while traveling on the road.

Was what I ordered, shipping was good. Spring on cover would not hold cover down. Had to take apart and bend spring.

This adapter really cleaned up the installation and connected directly to the wiring harness. Maybe added an additional 20 mins to install this adapter but totally worth the time and money.

Worked out well.

2 things. 1st@: I think there should be an option to pick tinned wire. 2nd: The ring terminal for the ground needs to be bigger.

This is for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. It took me a little extra time as my helper was a 5 ton floor jack and it supported the receiver and if only my right foot had fingers it would have helped a lot. Loading the bolts and plates into the frame was a snap, I left the fish wires on the bolts and that helped a lot and I didn't lose a bolt into the frame,you must leave the exhaust hanging to get to the rear bolt closest to the exhaust curve just before the mufflers I didn't and it was a bear to torque it. Also after I cut the opening on the bottom of the bumper and already had torqued the receiver I had to pry the bottom edge over the receiver there was no other way to get the hitch up inside not enough forward space to get it to slide up and in. Other than that it was a snap. Now for the wiring harness, went well had a bit of a time getting the connectors up to the tail lights even with all 4 screws out and a little bit of play I had to pry the plastic support away from the body to get the connectors through. That was for the 4 flat, for the power for the harness I have a rig runner 4005 from Powerwerx for all my power as I am a volunteer Fire Fighter and have all the goodies that goes with it and every thing runs fine. For the 5 flat all I had to do was find and take out the backup bulb in the tail light and test to find which wire was hot. And then it was over and done put it all back together and drive away with my trailer. Sorry no picture it looks just like the factory/dealer put it on. Ray H

My trailer has a reverse lockout that requires the back-up light signal to disable its brakes when backing up. This adapter did the trick perfectly.

I added it to my trailer, so when in camp I could have the running lights on without the truck.

I used this product along with your 7 round pin to 4 flat adapter, item #118709, on the lights on our Brent and Parker grain wagons. This has worked out great so far. We haven't had the problem of too much or too little cord for the trailer lights, which allows the cord to get pinched and cut or stretched and broke. I just need to come up with a method of securing the cord and plug to the trailer tongue when not in use.

Pretty heavy cord. Feels like good quality.

I have now installed the following on my 2017 Wrangler: Brake light relay kit . Hopkins Towed vehicle Tail Light wiring kit. Blue Ox base plate. Blue Ox Patriot Portable RF Braking System. All of this has taken about 3 days of work spread out over a week or so. Overall it went well. Not too many surprises. Crawling around under a car at 71 is a bit of a strain but I'll get over it. I must say that Donna P. has been a wonderful source of great information and has stayed right on top of the process. eTrailer has been a great source for this project. I would recommend you all with no hesitation.

Just what I needed for my home-built bike carrier. My wife rides an e-tricycle and by the time I loaded the trike and a couple of bikes on this platform, you could not see the car's taillights or blinkers. This harness worked perfectly!

Used this to rewire a 6 x 10 trailer. Inserted the wire through 3 feet of metal conduit to keep it from being damaged near the coupling. So now the only exposed wire is the ¼ inch right at the connector.

Very well built. This should hold up well for a long time.

This is very heavy duty looking connector and wires. I needed one to replace the damaged one on my Demco car hauler which is built for rental market. This looks as heavy duty as the original. Which didn't break but someone let it drag on the ground and wore half the pins off.

I had a 2 inch trailer hitch and 4 pole flat wire harness professionally installed on my 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup. When I bought my boat the trailer was wired for a 5 pole flat harness. Took my truck back to the installer to have the harness exchanged and was told that there was no 5 pole flat harness made for my 2001 truck. I asked about splicing a 5 pole flat harness to the 4 pole flat harness and was told by the installer that they don't do splicing and because the 4 pole harness was already installed I couldn't get a refund. So the search was on to fix this problem. Stumbled upon the etrailer E-commerce site and found what I was looking for. A 4 pole flat to 5 pole flat adapter. The price was right, the service was 5 Star and I received the adapter in 4 days which was perfect. I had time to install it, and get my boat on the water that weekend. Thanks George J. Got this for my 1980 Austrian Pinzgauer 710 that has the 7 pin EU style plug and a 24v system. I’ve got several US trailers with LED lights that work perfectly with this plug. The LEDs seem to handle the 24 volts ok saving me the hassle of having to relamp incandescent lights. This has been far easier than building a plug from scratch, I would however like to have a seven pin EU to pin US for my heavier trailers with brakes. I’ll probably end up building one but for my light towing this is a great solution.

Should come with the 7-pin mount for the vehicle. Hence the 4-star review. Part is well designed and fairly easy to install.
