I installed a trailer brake kit on my Ford Ranger over a year ago, finding the misc parts and install kit with the help of the etrailer Folks. My truck was rear ended recently, smashing the 7 pin connector, that came as one part number for multiple parts, mounted through the bumper. Calling the etrailer folks, they were able to single out the part I needed without buying the entire install kit again. One five minute phone call and I'm on my way again! Very pleased!

I just had to clip a few wires and it plugged into the 4 prong connector on the van and it works as it should

Perfect . My new Subaru hitch has a flat plate to which the dealership attaché the 4-flat. I used “2 L-brackets” to accommodate the 90 degree bend of the adapter bracket.

Was what I ordered, shipping was good. Spring on cover would not hold cover down. Had to take apart and bend spring.

This adapter really cleaned up the installation and connected directly to the wiring harness. Maybe added an additional 20 mins to install this adapter but totally worth the time and money.

This is for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. It took me a little extra time as my helper was a 5 ton floor jack and it supported the receiver and if only my right foot had fingers it would have helped a lot. Loading the bolts and plates into the frame was a snap, I left the fish wires on the bolts and that helped a lot and I didn't lose a bolt into the frame,you must leave the exhaust hanging to get to the rear bolt closest to the exhaust curve just before the mufflers I didn't and it was a bear to torque it. Also after I cut the opening on the bottom of the bumper and already had torqued the receiver I had to pry the bottom edge over the receiver there was no other way to get the hitch up inside not enough forward space to get it to slide up and in. Other than that it was a snap. Now for the wiring harness, went well had a bit of a time getting the connectors up to the tail lights even with all 4 screws out and a little bit of play I had to pry the plastic support away from the body to get the connectors through. That was for the 4 flat, for the power for the harness I have a rig runner 4005 from Powerwerx for all my power as I am a volunteer Fire Fighter and have all the goodies that goes with it and every thing runs fine. For the 5 flat all I had to do was find and take out the backup bulb in the tail light and test to find which wire was hot. And then it was over and done put it all back together and drive away with my trailer. Sorry no picture it looks just like the factory/dealer put it on. Ray H

My trailer has a reverse lockout that requires the back-up light signal to disable its brakes when backing up. This adapter did the trick perfectly.

Works as stated, just plug in to7 pin connection on car, and plug 4 pin to trailer. Nice feature w/ led lights to check if connection is good

Would be a good product if it were compatible with my Rivian R1T. The truck detects the draw of the indicator lights and insists on staying in trailer mode. I had to buy one without lights. I may or may not have used the compatibility feature of your website but you should be sure that it is set to not recommend this product to Rivian owners

I added it to my trailer, so when in camp I could have the running lights on without the truck.

I have now installed the following on my 2017 Wrangler: Brake light relay kit . Hopkins Towed vehicle Tail Light wiring kit. Blue Ox base plate. Blue Ox Patriot Portable RF Braking System. All of this has taken about 3 days of work spread out over a week or so. Overall it went well. Not too many surprises. Crawling around under a car at 71 is a bit of a strain but I'll get over it. I must say that Donna P. has been a wonderful source of great information and has stayed right on top of the process. eTrailer has been a great source for this project. I would recommend you all with no hesitation.

I had a 2 inch trailer hitch and 4 pole flat wire harness professionally installed on my 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup. When I bought my boat the trailer was wired for a 5 pole flat harness. Took my truck back to the installer to have the harness exchanged and was told that there was no 5 pole flat harness made for my 2001 truck. I asked about splicing a 5 pole flat harness to the 4 pole flat harness and was told by the installer that they don't do splicing and because the 4 pole harness was already installed I couldn't get a refund. So the search was on to fix this problem. Stumbled upon the etrailer E-commerce site and found what I was looking for. A 4 pole flat to 5 pole flat adapter. My '92 GMC Sierra had a 6-pin trailer harness connector and I'm going to be pulling a pop-up camper in a few weeks that has a 7-pin connector. I originally ordered a 47435 6-Pole to 7-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter. After thinking about it for a day I changed my mind and ordered a HM48470 Hopkins Endurance Multi-tow 7-way, 5 & 4-wire Flat Connector to mount in the bumper and a HM47570 Hopkins Endurance Multi-tow Connect Adapter - 7-way To 6-way, 5-way and 4-way. The HM48470 will allow me to pull the pop-up as well as giving me the 4-wire flat connector that I need for my boat trailer. I bought the HM47570 adapter just to cover all the trailer wiring needs I might run into. I really like the fact that the 47570 adapter has the quick change plug to cover both wiring arrangements for 6-pin trailer connectors. I placed the original order Saturday evening and the second order Sunday afternoon. Monday morning, I called etrailer.com to try to cancel the first order and was told that both orders were already boxed and on the way the shipper. I had no idea that they had people there to pull and box orders on the weekend. I asked about returning the first order when it arrived and was told by Helen M that it would be no problem at all. I needed an adapter for my electrical towing harness so the that I could use a 5-Way connector on my 7-WAY plug. On line, I found and ordered Item No. HM47570 "HOPKINS ENDURANCE MULTI-TOW CONNECTOR ADAPTER - 7-WAY to 6-WAY, 5-WAY or 4-WAY." When I received the product, I was really stoked, it was exactly what I needed and what I had been looking for! I tried it on for "size" as you might say and it's going to work like a charm. Got this for my 1980 Austrian Pinzgauer 710 that has the 7 pin EU style plug and a 24v system. I’ve got several US trailers with LED lights that work perfectly with this plug. The LEDs seem to handle the 24 volts ok saving me the hassle of having to relamp incandescent lights. This has been far easier than building a plug from scratch, I would however like to have a seven pin EU to pin US for my heavier trailers with brakes. I’ll probably end up building one but for my light towing this is a great solution.

Should come with the 7-pin mount for the vehicle. Hence the 4-star review. Part is well designed and fairly easy to install.
