Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
Do not follow the instructions for cutting the air dam. I cut mine 3" wide and 3 1/2 " tall. It was still a little wide. It goes without saying "you can always enlarge it but can't make the hole smaller." The poor instructions kept me from giving it 5 stars. I was able to put black silicon around the cut. Other than that it went on fine and seems to be sturdy. I chose the curt because it was lower and a bicycle rack would not stick up as high,
I installed a large tool box for extra storage during an extended trip to Utah. The hitch was no problem and I minimized lateral movement by strapping the box frame to my tow hooks and it worked great. I will be installing a front motorcycle carrier in the future

I went with this hitch since I have an after market front bumper. I wasn’t sure if it was going to fit but since this hitch was a bolted connection it gave me 2 options to have a chance it would fit. One I received the package the box was damaged but all the hardware had been taken to the hitch, so everything was there. I installed the hitch by myself and took me about 2 hours but that was due to the aftermarket bumper and dealing with that hardware at the same time otherwise the install went smooth. Tha last phot is to show this hitch worked with this bumper.
Mounted this hitch about a year ago and really like it. We pull a fifth wheel camper so this affords us the ability to haul our bikes or kayaks(tall T stand) up front. Was easy to install and looks good to boot.

Great customer service and product.
The quality and fit is exceptional. So much so that this is the third hitch assembly I've purchased and installed. This one was for my brother in-laws 1999 F350. I also put a 10k winch on a slider that works perfectly with this assembly. Other vehicles I purchased and installed assemblies on are a 2011 F350 and a 2016 Class C motorhome. Very happy.

Just what I was looking for. Thank you.
I ordered these two, front and rear for a 1990 GEO Tracker 4 wheel drive that I am rebuilding. I believed they would fit, I finally got around to mounting them and they don't fit, to large. I think I have had them to long to return them.

I own two of these hitches on two different trucks. One hitch has been in use for 6 years. The other one is a year old. The older one has functioned flawlessly. The new one went together well. The only issue is that one of the self tapping bolts broke off even with the anti-decapitation bar. It's not a huge problem, however I will have to remove the entire assembly to re-drill the broken bolt out which will damage the threads, requiring larger bolts. Looking for grade 8 3/8 or 10 mm self threading bolts as replacements, which may not exist? Another thought is to drill all of the way through both sides of the antidecapitation bar and use nuts and lock washers. The hitch is great otherwise!
Unfortunately the item I wanted wasn't in stock at etrailer, but I had time before I wanted to install the item, a front mount hitch. The vendor was on time with supplying the hitch and etrailer shipped the hitch in a timely manner. It arrived yesterday evening and I installed it today. I've installed three front hitches, all from etrailer Curt and Draw-Tite I believe over the past few years. Two this year. The first picture is the front hitch on a 1998 E-450 class C motor home, the second picture is on a 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck.

We live just south of Buffalo and Put this on our '11 Honda Ridgeline with a snowsport plow and a week later it snowed, and snowed and snowed... 5 feet in 24 hours and it's still snowing.... It's not good.... It's AWESOME! Not one driveway or even our street is clear... Except ours. It was easy to put together , easy to install and works exactly like it's advertised! It's November and it paid for itself already. Communication with etrailer was exceptional. We could not be happier with the whole setup.
Needed a front hitch for a 2006 Ridgeline Honda truck. I found it on etrailer.com and a better price for same hitch on another online store. As I talked with the customer service agent, I was also offered a discount which was quite a surprise. Shipping was very fast. Had it installed on my truck so I could attach a mounting hitch and snow blade. I am extremely happy with this hitch and etrailer.com.

Shipping was fast and packaged good with no scratches. I modified my 2010 Tundra skid pan for oil filter changes before mounting. Replaced all 4 OEM tow ring bolts using anti-seize with new longer M12-1.25 X 40MM class 10.9 zinc finished hex cap screws along with new M12 X 24MM OD HARD WASHERS and torqued all 4 to 79 ft/lbs. Mounted new Thule EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack and it fits in front without using the hitch extension. All went together as planned and can now take E-Bikes with us while pulling our camper. We are happy campers!
I bought and installed the front hitch to my 2014 Toyota Tundra because I did not want to use my travel trailer's rear bumper. The 2014 Toyota Tundra has a skid plate that has to be removed for oil changes and this front hitch installed would also have to be removed each time the oil is changed. I decided to cut a square hole in the skid plate allowing access to the oil filter so that the skid plate along with the front hitch would not have to be removed to get to the oil filter. The skid plate has 5 bolts and 3 screws and drops down for oil changes. To completely remove the skid plate after removing the bolts and screws you have to hold the skid plate and move it to the drivers side to unhook two hooks which are "L" shape facing the same way towards the passengers side. Do not leave the skid plate off because too many hoses and lines will be exposed and can be damaged while driving. It took me less than 20 minutes to install the front hitch and I also bought a Hitch Extender for a 2" Trailer Hitch 7" which made the hitch come even with the front bumper on my 2014 Toyota Tundra. I bought several other accessories to go with the front hitch which I can use when needed. I did buy this hitch mainly to use to carry my 2 beach cruiser bikes and it works perfect. Now all I have to do is insert the bike carrier into the receiver hitch and load the bikes and I am off with no worries about the bikes being in the rear of my travel trailer or trying to keep them steady in the bed of my Tundra. The bikes look really good in front of my Tundra and my driving view is not blocked at all with the bikes on. With the 7 inch extender the bikes are nowhere near the truck and with the Anti-rattle with lock on the 7" trailer hitch receiver there is no swaying while on the road or on the freeway at any speed. Thanks etrailer.

Well built, solid receiver hitch. I had to make minor modifications to get it to fit the gladiator mojave because of the fox shock mounts
Fits perfect and works just as I needed it to. I use it for my SnowSport plow set-up on a 2022 Gladiator Sport Max Tow. I’ve been using front receivers for this same plow for the last 24 years. It’s been used on 5 different trucks and this front receiver mount plow is the BEST. *** When installing on a Gladiator(possibly the Wrangler as well), the front plastic trim below the bumper needs to be cut for receiver clearance. I wanted a tight and “factory looking” install, so I took my time with a vibrating cutter and very sharp utility knife. After trying to put it back in place, the hole is not just square, it’s shaped more like. “T”. I suggest you make small adjustments/cuts as you go forward. It may take several times fitting and cutting to get it right and tight, but in the end it does look like it came that way from JEEP. On the Max Tow package, there is also a metal skid plate that does not get reinstalled. Unfortunately that piece is where the back of the plastic fascia mounts. I ended up securing it with some long heavy-duty zip-ties and it’s worked well for a year now. Just an FYI for those installing the same receiver on their same vehicle.

Install went perfectly. It all bolted up just how the instructions said it would. The hardest part was navigating your tools in the tight spaces. Having the deep sockets as suggested is definitely worth it. I was also able to utilize a cordless impact wrench and it helped a ton. This will work great for our bike rack.
Delivery was super fast, instructions and instructional video was excellent. Installed my new part in less than 40 minutes

Very easy to install. works great for bike rack and generator box.
After struggling with the answering menu, Steve Z. was instrumental in locating a hitch to fit my van which was not specifically identified in any data search. Weird year, 2005, of popular Chevy Express van, my luck! Using manufacturers dimensions I purchased #31016 on 12/21 and it arrived on 12/24. It's a very well built, USA built, unit. It arrived rapidly, but was missing half of the mounting hardware. The remainder of the hardware was rolling around in the box. Zip lock baggie ripped apart spilling them. I used a hydraulic jack to elevate hitch into place, and an additional jack to push the drill up to drill the 6 mounting holes necessary. No factory hole alignment. All the nuts for the bolts were lost in transit, but by a Christmas day miracle, I found 2 metric nuts to fit supplied bolts that survived the delivery. I will acquire, and install remaining missing 4 tomorrow. The installation went smooth and easy using this technique. It took around 3 hours with much of the time searching for hardware.' Thanks Steve Z. and etrailer. .

How it was received; either is was mail destroyed or UPS did this in the process. No telling what parts are missing, waiting for UPS to come pick this and E-Trailer to send out replacement. I thought these product would be packaged better from the factory for shipping resilience.
This hitch was very easy to install....I had to trim the lower air dam to fit around the receiver and that gives it a clean neat look. I didn't like that I had to remove and leave the shields around the tow hooks off. But overall I'm very pleased. I plan to use this hitch for maneuvering a camper in a narrow spot beside my home, and for a bike rack when towing a camper.

Package shipped and arrived quickly. Install was relatively easy, but took longer as the bolts were actually larger (7/8") - and I did not have a shallow socket for it that was also 1/2" drive for my torque wrench. I also needed remove the grill cover to have enough throw to tighten back on the bumper after the hitch was bolted on (which blocked access from the bottom). I would recommend getting some 9/16" shank carriage bolts to help align and secure the front flange while tightening the sides to the frame. I used a floor jack on level pavement to raise the hitch into position. Overall - it looks great and functions well. Very stout and strongly built with superb welds and finish. This will make getting smaller trailers into tight spaces MUCH more easier and less of a headache/embarrassment. Plus it's also another point for recovery as an option for 4x4 or overlanding, and I also added a step to the front of it which makes accessing the back of the engine bay easier.
Easy install. I use it to carry extra gear hunting, camping, fishing and a multitude of every day items. Makes things easier for me.I think if you own a truck or a suv you'll like this on your rig.

This hitch came quickly and I believe was priced fairly for what you get. Unfortunately, as some other have posted, this hitch is intended for my vehicle (1996 Ford E350 RV) but did not fit correctly. I had a problem with the front holes not being spaced far enough apart for the bolts to fit. The rearmost bolts go into a oversized and slotted hole in the underside of the frame so there was no problem with those, but the front holes in the frame have to be drilled out to 17/32" for the supplied 1/2" bolts per the included directions, and I couldn't get the bolts in both sides. The bolt holes in the hitch needed to be approximately 1/4" further apart. Also, there is a relief cut out of the hitch that I assume is to miss a bump on the under side of the frame. This cut out is in the wrong location to miss the bump in the frame. I went ahead and torched the slot for the bolt a little longer on one side and made the cut out for the frame bump bigger on both sides. A little grinding, a little touch-up paint, and back on she went. Had to notch the lower plastic valance just a little bit to clear the receiver, which was expected. Actually had to cut it a lot less than I thought I would. The two safety chain loops sit right under the valance, but I don't for see the need to hook anything to those, so I opted to not hack up the valance at this time. I intend to put a bike rack on the front, and also use the hitch to get drug onto the beach at Pismo from time to time. Hopefully the cuts I made don't weaken the hitch for that purpose. The directions call for this to be a 20 minute install. Granted, I took off the bumper, but even if I hadn't, and the hitch was fitted correctly, I find it hard to believe anybody could get this done in anywhere near that time. As another reviewer said, now that it's on, I'm a happy camper, but it was a little bit of a job to get there.
The hitch is good quality but the hole pattern did not match my 2011 E150 Ford Van. The rear bolts fall in the access hole. I have to drill 3/4 holes in the frame instead of 17/32". I have to remove the whole front bumper because the accesshole is to small for the 1/2 carriage bolt.

Product is great! Exceeds my expectations for ease of installation and performance. I removed the 3” spoiler completely vs cutting for hitch. The key is to “dry fit” in place and use a metal punch to mark all your drill holes. Wire bolt feeder worked great for installing bolts. I used the hitch to mount my eight pole rod & cooler holder for surf fishing.
Super fast shipping, but could use better packing.Hitch actually made a large hole in box,UPS driver had me check to see if anything was missing.Easy install, but try finding a 17/32" bit. After seeing how big the front opening is I just used a 1/2" bit. I think it took longer to remove, trim and reinstall the front spoiler than the rest of the job. Looks great installed

What can I say that you haven't already heard? etrailer.com made this such a painless and straight forward process for selecting the front hitch for my 2015 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited that I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. The Curt front hitch for my jeep arrived quickly and in great shape, very well packed. On unpacking I found my hardware and instruction firmly secured to it so it didn't get mixed up with my rear hitch, good forward thinking. The hitch is robustly built and you can see the care that goes into the quality, all the welds are neat and tidy and the finish is excellent. The hardware is all coated for long lasting performance and the fish wire is beyond handy. For the installation of the front hitch the instructions are a little lacking. This is not to say bad or confusing, just lacking a little more how to. The etrailer video on installing it made the process go smooth and easy. On my Rubicon model you do have to fight with the sway bar motor on the passenger side and the vacuum unit on the driver side, it is a pain but if you take the top frame trim off it is much easier to work. The bolt hole on the drivers side, pass a drill through it to make sure the ft is right because its very tight to work in that area and close won't work. Other than that, it installs exactly like the video. The only thing that would complete the package would be a template for clipping the front plastic shield, the Curt instructions include a sketch that gives you an idea but a simple temporary adhesive template would make it super simple to drill the corners out and then connect the dots with a tool of choice. But hey, that's just me. The hitch tucks up real nice and doesn't kill approach angle or ground clearance which is great for my application as its for carrying a winch when I need it. I would recommend etrailer.com without hesitation and strongly urge the Curt line of products based on what I've seen so far.
It was a great price to solve my problem of how to take my bike camping when I’m pulling my teardrop trailer. Installation wasn’t that difficult with the exception of the top bolt on the drivers side. The brake booster pump was in the way. Keep trying and you’ll get it in eventually. It took me about an hour to install.

The hitch was well-made, and installing it was very easy. However, the design of the hitch is somewhat perplexing. The hitch receiver hangs about 3 inches lower than it needs to, which reduces the ground clearance on the front of the truck significantly. See attached photos. The hitch will work until I find something better, That restores the front ground clearance
Well so far so good. It was a little difficult trying to do it by myself, got most of it done and then had to go to a autobody shop down the road to tighten up the 4 bolts.

Very sturdy, have used this several times with 2 bikes on the front of my Lincoln while towing the Airstream and balances out the tongue load with some counterbalancing load on the front. Small view obstruction, but careful arrangements of bikes and dropper post engaged makes it unobtrusive. Note that I do take the inside bike inner pedal off to keep it from damaging front of Lincoln, but that is minor. Could also use a hitch extender but don't want to add to torque on front end. One other case I had, used bike racks on front and back simultaneously, since I had both and capacity was limited. Be very careful not to drop any of the threading springs or bolts inside the frame of your car or install could take a bit longer. :) I do get some looks at the local bike start parking lot since this setup is a bit unusual. Very happy to have bikes outside my vehicle while towing a trailer and would definitely say that the hitch mount is sturdy after a year of use.
This hitch is high quality and fit perfectly. Install was relatively easy. I needed this hitch because I tow a travel trailer and need to carry my bike rack and bikes as well. I can move the bike rack to my rear factory hitch when I'm not towing, very simple. The pictures show my truck / RV with my bike rack installed in the front hitch.

I have had the front receiver hitch installed on my 1996 Suburban for about a year now. I have a 12000 lb winch installed using that receiver hitch. I have gotten stuck twice and had to use the winch to extract the truck. Very glad that I have the front receiver hitch as it made putting on the winch very easy. Also useful for mounting a receiver mount bicycle rack to the front as well.
I have ordered several things in the last couple weeks. Everything came as I ordered and fit like it was supposed to. Thanks
