My trailer has a reverse lockout that requires the back-up light signal to disable its brakes when backing up. This adapter did the trick perfectly.

Adapter 4-pole To 5-pole Flat - works as described. Installed on 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. Connected blue wire to left rear light harness. Strongly recommend using a 12v tester for this install, as visual diagnosis can be wrong. Deduct one star because 5-plug has no cover and is susceptible to road grime. My solution is to leave original 4way plug with cover underneath the vehicle and connect 5plug adaptor only when towing boat.

My truck has a dual trailer connection - 4 pole flat and 7 pin RV. When using my utility trailer, the spring loaded door on the 4 pole side exerts pressure on the trailer plug and wire, causing it to bend severely. Thinking this would be bad for wiring longevity, I ordered this adapter, which goes into the 7 pin side, and the plastic, sturdy body of the plug takes the force of the spring loaded door without the door touching the wiring. Then, the 4 pole trailer plug simply plugs into the 7 way. No more stress on the trailer plug!!

Excellent replacement for older adapter.Also,replaced the old worn out 6 pin connecter on the rv with a Pollak connector.

When I changed my vehicule for the Expedition 2021, I was getting the error message "trailer left turn lamp fault" when towing my RV. After searching online I found out that there wasn't really a problem with the car or the RV. The source of the problem was that I was using the Ford factory tow package with brake control and that their computer thought there was a faulty bulb when in fact it's just because of the low amperage used by the LED lights. This problem can happen with different vendors not just FORD. I was releived that there was an adapter to fix this but it was backorder EVERYWHERE. etrailer kept me informed for several weeks/months until the part was finaly available. (thank you guys for that by the way) With this adapter, my problem is no more and I can safely travel with my RV without having my left lights disabled by the car's computer (yeah it did that). Every RV shop should have that and know about this possible issue. Buy yours before they go BO again. :)

Got this for my 1980 Austrian Pinzgauer 710 that has the 7 pin EU style plug and a 24v system. I’ve got several US trailers with LED lights that work perfectly with this plug. The LEDs seem to handle the 24 volts ok saving me the hassle of having to relamp incandescent lights. This has been far easier than building a plug from scratch, I would however like to have a seven pin EU to pin US for my heavier trailers with brakes. I’ll probably end up building one but for my light towing this is a great solution.

It works, it doesn’t have indicator lights so it doesn’t make my Rivian think I’m towing unless I actually am. The cap is difficult to remove as it’s recessed into the unit, overall it does the job.
