24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged, and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
This carrier worked out great. The tilt down feature is helpful to have but I didn't really need it. However, the fold up feature was helpful when driving around, so I recommend that as a convenience. The only thing I had trouble with was the hitch bolt. I have a Thule bike rack that I've used with my truck hitch receiver and never had a problem, but this rack's hitch bolt was a real pain to get in at first. Don't be dismayed. With the rack off of the vehicle, I used some WD-40 and some lithium grease on the bolt and then used an adjustable wrench to screw it in and out a number of times. I noticed a bunch of either paint or metal shards gumming up the threads on the bolt each time I removed it. After about 5 times of screwing it in and out, wiping off the bolt with a towel, adding some more grease once in a while, it got to the point that I could screw it in and out by hand pretty easily. Problem solved. I'm really happy with this rack. It fit two big coolers of food and beer plus beach umbrellas and other stuff. It's really strong and sturdy. The biggest issue was not the weight on the rack, but whether the rear suspension on the Highlander could hold it with our other junk in the back plus passengers. :-)

24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Let ke the cargo carrier. 500lb capacity. Bent shank for clearance. Easy assembly.
Solid construction, heavy. Smaller center bolts (where brand name plate is) seemed like they were beginning to strip when torqued per instructions? Nice and big. 988501 bag fits perfectly and can hold an impressive amount of gear.

24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I haven't used this yet, but the day it arrived I promptly put it together and installed it on my KIA. This is a very sturdy little unit. My wife and I can't wait to try it out the next time we take a trip. This will give us some much needed room in our Sorento and allow me to see out the back glass (she seems to over pack for trips haha). I am also glad I purchased the Blue Ox Hitch receiver Immobilizer II BX88224 as well. Thanks again etrailer. Customer service was very helpful in resolving an out of stock issue and worked with me to get my order taken care of. I actually received the whole order the next day. I will definitely recommend you to my friends.
My family and i are planning a long distance trip in a week. This carrier not only fits perfectly behind our new kia sorrento, but has allowed us to fit all our luggage behind the car, rather than inside. Etrailer was very informative and got back to my email very fast. Thanks for helping

GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - 420 lbs - Black
Perfect sized box for carry sized luggage and softball game day gear. Proven space saver. Receiver is showing signs of rust otherwise would be a ten. Would buy again.
The cargo carrier generally performed as intended, but it took a lot of tinkering and a warranty replacement of the lid to complete things to our satisfaction. On delivery we found that both two aluminum side stiffeners had been bent during shipment, and were replaced fairly quickly. We then found excessive play in the fit with the receiver, and it was impossible to accommodate a "noise reduction clamp" properly at the hitch, so I used part of a bent aluminum stiffener to apply pressure across the connection between the receiver and the hitch. And lastly, the lid section was warped by over 1", which still kept rain out, but did not keep fine dust out, and it was very unsightly. After a bit of discussion, a replacement lid was provided at no cost, which I have not yet had the chance to inspect as it was delivered to our Arizona home over the summer, and we spend the summer in Canada.

23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Carrier and box will be moved to hitch on 209 Solitude Rv to provide extra cargo carrying ability
A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit of the Curt 20 x 48 cargo carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this is designed to work with both inch and 1/4 and 2 inch hitches and has a 300 pound weight capacity though it is on the lighter end of our cargo carrier. It's very easy to insert into our hitch and lift any time we need to move it. First thing we're going to do while it's on our vehicle is take a few measurements. We're going to start off with our ground clearance.
MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we've got the MaxxTow Aluminum Cargo Carrier. We're doing a test fit on it to see exactly how it fits behind the vehicle here. This cargo carrier, it's been designed for use with two inch hitches and offers a 500 pound weight capacity. It measures 21 by 48, and the part number on it is MT70422. The 500 pound weight capacity is going to come from this main steel shank that runs all the way through. That's where we get all that good capacity, even with it being an aluminum cargo carrier, which is very light and very easy to load up.
Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento
Today, on our 2016 Kia Sorrento, we're going to take a look at the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier is been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. It offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is CC-100. You can see here, the floor on the carrier, it's got those nice large open areas to allow that dirt, debris, and moisture, to fall down through that expanded steel. If you're going to be transporting really small items, you might want to use a little caution.
Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we've gotten out the Let's Go Arrow Gear Cage and we're testing it to see how it shapes up against the back of the vehicle. This cargo carrier it's going to measure 32 inches by 48 inches. It's been designed for use with 2 inch hitches, offers a 300 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is gonna be HCR222. You see this carrier has a solid floor. That's something we don't see in a lot of carriers. I think it's nice if you're going to be transporting smaller things or things that you don't want maybe to fall through one of those openings and get scratched and stuff like that. It's got a raised edge all the way around the outside.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento C18151

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento we've got out the Curt Folding 24x60 Cargo Carrier. We're testing it, seeing what kind of room we've got. This carrier's designed for use in 2 inch hitches, it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number it is C18153. See, what I really like about the carrier, it's ability to fold up against the rear of the car. That's really going to reduce how much that we've added to the back of the vehicle. In this position we're going to have added about 12 and 1/2 inches to the rear of our Sorento.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sorento C18150
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we're doing a test fit on the Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier. This is designed for use on two inch hitches, has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Part number on it is CI8150. As you can see, we've got what I call a medium size expanded steel floor there, plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and through while also giving us a lot of support to keep all of our items secure while we're heading down the road. Also helping in that is going to be the raised rail, that goes all the way round the outside here. This is going to be about five and a half inches off of our platform, good front to back and side to side stability. Also, it's going to give us a lot of good connection points around here, so once our gear is on the carrier we'll be able to get it strapped down. On the back side of the carrier we've got about 13 and three quarters of an inch worth of ground clearance.
What our customers are saying:
"My cargo carrier was delivered on Tuesday (I ordered it over the weekend)! No rush delivery, no fuss, just fast service. Thanks!"
