2 things. 1st@: I think there should be an option to pick tinned wire. 2nd: The ring terminal for the ground needs to be bigger.

I've had this in use for over a year and they don't build them like they use to. I use this on a gooseneck trailer and the piece of plastic behind the spade connector for the clearance lights and brakes has melted, allowing the spade connector to lose contact with the plug on the pickup. So the lights would cut off in the middle of the night and would have to wiggle the connection till I could fix it. I have an older Hopkins plug and never had this problem. To fix the problem I ended up putting pieces of thin copper wire behind the spade and have done it twice since the plastic melted a 2nd time and once again the trailer clearance lights would quit working. Customer service was great, I called for help connecting the 7-way and they walked me through it. Shipping could be better

I added it to my trailer, so when in camp I could have the running lights on without the truck.

I installed a trailer brake kit on my Ford Ranger over a year ago, finding the misc parts and install kit with the help of the etrailer Folks. My truck was rear ended recently, smashing the 7 pin connector, that came as one part number for multiple parts, mounted through the bumper. Calling the etrailer folks, they were able to single out the part I needed without buying the entire install kit again. One five minute phone call and I'm on my way again! Very pleased!

The quality of the materials for this wire connector is very high, especially the insulation on the wires. One thing to note is the wire colors do not match the standard colors associated with this style of 7-Way plug. Definitely use a continuity tester to determine which wire goes to which blade in the plug. Other than that, this is a good product for the price.

It's a bundle of wires with a plug. Hard to make this type of part special above other brands. Price is the big factor. Not quite sure why this one is 50% less cost than some others. But works as expected. Solved the dreaded taillights blinking while traveling on the road.

My trailer has a reverse lockout that requires the back-up light signal to disable its brakes when backing up. This adapter did the trick perfectly.

Adapter 4-pole To 5-pole Flat - works as described. Installed on 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. Connected blue wire to left rear light harness. Strongly recommend using a 12v tester for this install, as visual diagnosis can be wrong. Deduct one star because 5-plug has no cover and is susceptible to road grime. My solution is to leave original 4way plug with cover underneath the vehicle and connect 5plug adaptor only when towing boat.

My truck has a dual trailer connection - 4 pole flat and 7 pin RV. When using my utility trailer, the spring loaded door on the 4 pole side exerts pressure on the trailer plug and wire, causing it to bend severely. Thinking this would be bad for wiring longevity, I ordered this adapter, which goes into the 7 pin side, and the plastic, sturdy body of the plug takes the force of the spring loaded door without the door touching the wiring. Then, the 4 pole trailer plug simply plugs into the 7 way. No more stress on the trailer plug!!

As usual with E-Trailer, the connector cable that I needed arrived quickly and was the right part. When I had a question about my toad wiring, they responded with an answer and an instructional video which solved my problem. etrailer is the only place I could find this item. It is much higher quality than other flat connectors, with weather covers and big finger/thumb grips to actually hold onto the connectors and easily separate them. I used the 'trailer' end in my adapter unit.

The female connector is attached to the swing arm of a motorcycle to provide lighting lighting for a trailer pulled by the motorcycle. This means that there is likely much more movement in the harness than for an automotive application. I've never had a problem with any part of the harness. I found this product to be exactly what I wanted, well made and easy to install. The protective cap functions well as it remains pliable (flexible) after a year of use, and while it has never fallen off in use, it is easy enough to remove before making the connection. It has done the perfect job of keeping mud and other detritus out of the contacts. The recessed nut holders also function well and is one of the reasons I chose this wiring kit. This wiring kit gets high regard and recommendation from me. All of my purchases from etrailer have been solid products delivered at reasonable cost.

I've had this harness for a year now. Over the past year we've traveled from South Carolina to Maine, down to Georgia and up to Maine again, with many stops along the way. It's worked fine.

Sold the trailer,so did not use. Was not able to return,because it was electrical. No hard feelings.

I rewired my light bar for my boat trailer with the items I purchased. Before I built the the light bar, every time I used my boat trailer I would waste valuable sailing or fishing time repairing faulty lights. The do not last long when you submerge them in salt water. This light bar now version 3.0 have given little trouble over the years

Got this for my 1980 Austrian Pinzgauer 710 that has the 7 pin EU style plug and a 24v system. I’ve got several US trailers with LED lights that work perfectly with this plug. The LEDs seem to handle the 24 volts ok saving me the hassle of having to relamp incandescent lights. This has been far easier than building a plug from scratch, I would however like to have a seven pin EU to pin US for my heavier trailers with brakes. I’ll probably end up building one but for my light towing this is a great solution.

Perfect . My new Subaru hitch has a flat plate to which the dealership attaché the 4-flat. I used “2 L-brackets” to accommodate the 90 degree bend of the adapter bracket.

Perfect fit for my Tiffin motorhome, will use the flat plug for tow dolly lights.
