Hello neighbors, I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at the license plate holder for the Kuat NV 2.0 series bike racks. Now folks, this does work with a very, very wide range of Kuat NV 2.0 bike racks, I'll put all the model number and options up on the screen here. It's a very simple bolt on installation with the included hardware and tools. So this bracket for your license plate can tilt to a couple different options. The main bolt here is gonna go through and you got two bolts to help hold on the license plate.
But then you could simply tilt the license plate up or down accordingly to get to the rack more, or to have the license plate shown while you are hauling down the road. Very nice heavy duty black powder coated aluminum, so it's lightweight, and very durable, and corrosion resistant. It's a direct part from Kuat, very nice. I like the fact that you can add the license plate while you're towing. Some states require it by law, so check your local laws from each state as you're traveling through, you always want to be respectful of different states' rules and regulations.

The license plate holder after 1 year use seems to get loosen and the plate instead of remaining vertical it goes facing downwards with an angle. Additionally the screws which come with the plate and the holder need washers to prevent the License Plate from falling, which is exactly what happened to me.
Won't get into trouble not displaying a license plates anymore. Does the job it was intended to do. Wish it was included with the original rack.
Purchase experience with etrailer was great. No complaints.
The license plate holder is well built and packaged, like all Kuat products. The problem is there is no light which makes it illegal to use when dark. Kuat even mentions this in their literature. I would like to see them make a model with a light and not over charge for it. I’m currently rigging something with an $8 light from eBay. I hope I can make it work.
Wanted to give it a 5 star rating. I live overseas and we have the long, European style license plates/holders. Unfortunately, the holes do not line up to attach the plate to the Kuat plate holder, so I will have to improvise. I will say my experience with the company was excellent. They had no issues shipping to an APO address, and the plate holder arrived in less than a week. I was kept up to date throughout the entire order/shipping process.
It fits perfect I just wish there is some built in security so thief can’t just unscrew it and take the whole thing away with the license plate.

Bike carrier works great. No issues
