Big bikes don’t need to mean big hassle. The Kuat Piston Pro X uses hydro-pneumatic struts that open automatically with a simple tap of the lever, letting you load bikes with both hands free. The arms secure each bike by the wheels—no frame contact, no scratches. Each arm has labeled tire size settings from 20" up to 29", and the grooved wheel trays handle everything from narrow 18c tires to 5" fat tires.
With a 50-lb per-bike weight rating, this rack is built to handle most e-bikes, cruisers, and mountain builds with confidence. The platform design carries up to 3 bikes out of the box, and the front tray can be removed when you only need room for 2. A 2-bike add-on is also available if you ever want to expand to 4.
Getting into your cargo area mid-trip doesn’t mean pulling off your bikes. The spring-loaded hand and foot pedal lets the rack tilt down even when fully loaded, so your gear stays within reach. When the ride’s done, fold it up to save space—perfect for tight parking or garage storage.
Visibility matters when you’ve got bikes on the back. The Piston Pro X integrates LED brake lights and turn signals powered through your vehicle’s 4-way flat connector. The lights stay visible whether the rack is in use or folded, keeping you easy to spot day or night.
Security comes standard. The flatlock cam tightens inside the hitch to cut down on movement and noise, and keyed-alike locks secure both the rack and your bikes. A thick braided steel cable threads through your frames and locks back into the rack, while a stainless steel hitch lock keeps everything attached and steady.

After a year I’m still floored by the quality, and ease of use. Had a pinched wire for the tail lights, and Kuat sent out a replacement set of wires no questions asked for free. To notch company!

Check out the License Plate Holder for Kuat Piston Pro X, part # KU49RR.
