When you’re pulling long miles, you want your setup to stay steady. This Curt base plate spreads the towing load evenly across the frame to help reduce stress on your suspension and keep things tracking smoothly. The high-strength steel construction is welded for precision and physically tested to the vehicle’s gross weight rating (GVWR), giving you proven dependability for every trip.
Nobody wants bulky brackets hanging off the front when they’re not towing. This kit hides the main body under the front end for a clean, factory-style look. The removable arms twist out easily, leaving only a simple, unobtrusive finish that keeps your vehicle’s appearance sharp and uncluttered.
Getting ready to tow shouldn’t take all afternoon. With Curt’s twist-lock tabs, connecting your tow bar is quick and tool-free—just twist to secure and you’re ready to roll. When you’re done, remove the arms for a clean front end. It’s a straightforward system that makes solo hookups easy and reliable.
This kit is made to handle real-world conditions. A rust-resistant liquid Bonderite coating is bonded with a durable black powder coat, giving double protection against road salt, rain, and debris. It stays looking good year after year, even after plenty of highway miles.
Each base plate is engineered for an exact fit with existing mounting points. That precise alignment means no guesswork when bolting it on. It also comes with safety cables for secure attachment and peace of mind every time you tow. For planning your setup, the distance between brackets is 30-3/8" and bracket height is 15".

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at our Curt Custom Base Plate Kit. This features removable arms, all the safety cables you need and all the hardware as well. Now folks, this is a custom-fit application, meaning it's gonna be custom for the specific vehicle and bolt right to the frame with ease. So make sure you're checking the Fit Guide here at etrailer.com, be sure you're getting the right parts the very first time.
So as I said, you're gonna get two safety cables here and you're also gonna get the bag of hardware that has everything you need for the installation. Now as you can see, these have been black powder-coated, so they have a superior rust protection outer coating on them. And if you've never used the Curt custom base plate kits, they're again a lot faster to install, but also using the tabs here, what they're called, removable tabs, these are twist and lock. They make it super fast and easy to hook up your tow bar, but then whenever you take them out, when you're not flat towing, you now have a flush, clean look at the front of the vehicle. So to take them out, it's really simple.
The silver tab here is spring-loaded, so you're gonna watch this tab move. You literally take it, twist it back about 90 degrees, and it literally pops back out. And that's what each side of this looks like. So it's gonna go in there, and then, of course, your tow bar would mount to this part. And then when it's time to hook up, you simply just push it back in and twist it.
It's gonna snap right into place. And then again, you're hooking your tow bar up and you're ready to go. So folks, this again is the Curt Custom Base Plate. The distance between the brackets should be 30 3/8 inches between those, and these brackets are gonna be about 15 inches off the ground. So again, make sure you're checking the instructions, make sure you're checking the Fit Guide here at etrailer.

Base Plates mounted on my 2022 Ford Bronco is holding up 100. Great quality finish that has not rusted. I have seen base plates from other companies being installed on Broncos and they are making major modifications. Not my Curt Custom Base Plates. An easy DYI with no major modifications. We have towed our Bronco 13,000 miles behind our Class A and its a flawless tow. These base plates were also priced much better then other brands. Thank you Etrailer!
