Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made, 12 inch diameter, Tuff End commercial buoy in the orange color. Now this Tuff End buoy's designed to meet the demands of the commercial marine industry. These are a nice, heavy-duty, seamless construction. They do use a tapered islet right up here at the top, allows for attachment of a standard shackle to it. And the curve design right up here by the islet prevents any chafing of your rope that connects to it. The eyelet diameter right here is one and 1/16th of an inch.
The ends on these buoys are reinforced. They're tested to 2000 PSI tensile strength, and these can be inflated with the high pressure air pump or air compressor.Now, when you do receive these, they are not inflated. You would have to inflate them. This one here we've inflated just to show you looks like when it's inflated. The recommended inflation pressure is two PSI.
Now this does use the patented tri valve design, like I'm showing you right here where the valve is. And basically what that is, it requires a decent amount of air pressure to move the air through the valve so that it escapes the positive check valve, which is at the bottom of the valve and lets the air into the buoy itself. That's why they recommend a high pressure air pump to be able to do that. Basically, the hole where the air escapes into the buoy is on the side of the valve tube that's underneath that check valve. So the higher air pressure helps that air escape out this hole and fill up your buoy.It has a nice, bright orange color, very visible.
It has made in the USA. The diameter on this is 12 inches. Overall circumference on this buoy is 38 inches and the buoyancy is 33 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 12 inch diameter, Tuff End commercial buoy in the orange color.
