Video Transcript for DeeZee Custom-Fit Truck Bed Mat Fit Verified - 2017 GMC Sierra 1500

Hi. Matt at etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the DeeZee bed mat in our 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. Now, this will be a great option if you're just looking for something that's gonna be more affordable, and it's just gonna give the back of your truck a simple look, and be a little bit nice to work in if you need to. And if that does sound like you, you also wanna make sure this one's gonna be compatible with your truck. So I'm gonna be talking about the one designed to fit in your 5 1/2 foot beds.

I'd also say this is gonna be for someone who's just trying to keep the inside of their truck looking nicer. So let's say you're bringing in some items that are pretty heavy, they have either some sharp or hard edges to them, it's gonna protect your truck from any type of scratches like that from getting in here. Or if you're bringing items that have a lot of dirt, grime, mud on them, whatever it be, it's gonna help just be a little bit cleaner and help keep that dirt from really setting into place. Because if we look at the liner I have right here, this picks up any type of dirt pretty easy, and it's gonna stay on there. This in comparison, it's gonna be much easier to take out, hose off, and put back into place.

So let's focus on how it's fitting back here. So right now you're gonna notice we have a little bit of bowing right in this corner. That's because this is brand new. I did put some weights on it and it did help, but you're better off just putting this outside during a sunny day to help loosen that up so it can learn its shape. And once it does, you're gonna get a fit more like this, and that's really gonna contour around our corners.

And that's attention to detail that I do like about this, is look, it's very custom, and it's really just designed for our vehicle today. Even around our wheel wells back here. We're also gonna have some contouring or some cutouts on the edges. So let's say you got something really dirty, or some sand, or even water that builds up in here, it's gonna get caught up in here instead of being on this raised surface. So if you are stepping on this, you're gonna be less likely of slipping.

And speaking of slipping, if I pull this up, you're gonna notice a bunch of little bumps on the bottom of this. This is gonna do two things for us. One, it's gonna give us better traction and grip for here. So it's not gonna slide around in your bed or it's not gonna fly out because it is pretty heavy. And this is also gonna keep this raised up. So let's say you've got some water pooling up underneath here. It's not gonna create a suction cup, and that water isn't gonna get trapped down here leading to mildew. Instead, it's gonna eventually just flow out from the back of your truck or at least dry up. And when you are about to put it in here, this is gonna be a little bit heavy, so I do recommend having a friend to help you out with that, especially since it's gonna wanna curl up on you during that process. Now, it being thicker and heavier is actually a good thing, 'cause like I said earlier, when we're putting those items that weigh a little bit more or have those sharper edges to them, since this is gonna be thicker, that's not gonna be likely of cutting through this and then scratching through and damaging the inside of your truck. Now, in my opinion, I think this is gonna be a great affordable bed mat that's just gonna be as simple, and look nice in the back of your bed. Now, we're gonna have a whole lot of other options here on our website. Some of them have more of a utilitarian aspect, some are gonna be more comfortable, and some are gonna be just more robust and heavy-duty. Now, this one, in my opinion, is more of a jack of all trades. So it does all that pretty okay. But the big thing is still looking nice and being affordable.
