Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at the replacement jack stand for your Yakima EXO system. Here in this video we'll talk about the different things that come with this replacement stand, where you would usually find it, as well as how to use it. So your jack stand is going to arrive in this pouch and this is also how it'll arrive when you get the top shelf, which is where you can find the jack stand. The jack stand is not included with the swing base, but rather the top shelf, because the idea is once you start loading it up with those two tiers on your cargo system, that's when you need the extra support. So this bag is plenty of space to put your included things, which is gonna be your two heads and that's gonna be different heights, so that you have different support. And then you're gonna have the base as well.
With everything loaded in here, you still have a lot of extra space, which is why I recommend also using this bag for your other Yakima EXO System related tools, like your security alan wrench. So this is to be used when your swing base is out in the 90 degree position. If you're just swinging this out for a quick little access into your hatch or to your tailgate or to open up your doors, you don't need to use the jack stand. But if you're planning on setting up your campsite here and you're planning to leave us out for a while, you do need that jack stand to support this corner. Now you do have the two different heads here, so depending on how high up this is off the ground, where your ground clears or if you're on an incline, you may have to pick and choose.
So take a closer look there at the holes and you can see how everything has the same black powder-coat finish. And then they also have the same top. So notice how this is shaped. It's to fit perfectly into your EXO System, but you also have this flat plastic washer to cushion. So the way I use this is I use the bag just to kneel on as I get this all set up.
We're then gonna rotate this jack stand to its lowest position. Just rotate that base right there. And now, go and take a look, obviously this one's going to be a little too short and this one is going to be what we're going to use. So line that up with a holes and then find which one is closest to where our swing base is. So see how that hole seems to be the closest to the height we need to get Go ahead, grab that bar and feed it through to secure your two parts of your jack stand and now get it underneath the base.
I pop this into the hole and then I turn the base so that it raises up. Once you've got a good spot here, we're then gonna just rotate the whole jack stand using our bar. Keep going until you feel like you've got a good fit or you feel like the swing base is more supported. It's not as obvious now because our EXO System is empty, but sometimes, especially once you have heavier cargo on your system, you'll notice that the swing base noticeably bends or is angled downward. So in that case, you'll notice that when you support it with the jack stand, it will level out a bit more, showing how supported it is. So this is gonna be the replacement part for your jack stand that you received with your Yakima EXO System. So if you lost parts of the jack stand, maybe the adapters or maybe you lost the bar, this is gonna be the full replacement for you. So hopefully this helped you out with seeing how to use it, as well as what parts came with this kit. Highly recommend, if you have your Yakima EXO System out in the 90 degree angle. Please use that jack sand to support it, as well as to even out that tilt.

Replaces the jack assembly needed to support your Yakima EXO system when using the TopShelf (8002716). Includes jack stand and storage bag.I consider this an essential item for the Yakima EXO SwingBase whether you have the TopShelf or not. When the SwingBase is fully extended away from the tail gate of your vehicle, this simple jack stand will take a good amount of the shear load created by that motion. It takes just a second to use and will greatly increase the usable lifespan of Yakima EXO SwingBase.
Perfect! It goes up!! It goes down!
Great quick service from trailer.
