Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the hitch lock in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. This lock has a shear strength of 42,000 lbs.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at these InfiniteRule hitch locks for your B&W hitch step. Now these heavy-duty stainless steel locks are built to keep your B&W hitch step securely attached to your B&W tow and stove ball mount, whether it's for your 2-inch or 2-1/2- inch version. And these have been third-party tested for impressive durability, boasting a sheer strength of 42,000 pounds. Now the flush style design's going to give you a clean low profile look while the grooved pin head here is going to make them very easy to grip when locking or unlocking. These are built to handle the elements.
Let me give you a brief demonstration of how easy these are going to be to use. So you're going to get two keys. Everything is key to like. So one key will run the complete operation here. So I'm just going to insert the key and turn it counterclockwise like I'm loosening a bolt.
And then as you can see, that's how easy these are going to be to unlock, detach. We do have an internal O-ring that's going to keep dirt and grime away from those internal components. Then when you're ready to lock up, you'll just connect the head back to the lock and then turn clockwise like you're tightening up a screw or a bolt. And then once it's tight, then you want to line the key up to the nearest set of hash marks around the ring here. And there we go.
So as you can see, you do have those hash marks around the ring there. So you just line that key up to the nearest set, maybe you have to back it off just a little bit. That'll allow you to remove the key. We do have these tethered caps here that are going to keep that keyway clean. So you're not going to have to worry about moisture getting in there or build up.
So it's going to be very easy to keep that keyway clean. So again, the shear strength is 42,000 pounds. And let me go ahead and give you some measurements here. So each of these locks are going to measure exactly the same. See if I can pull my ruler up there. So the overall length, about 7-1/4-inches long. And then the inside pin length or the span inside, inside to inside there, looks like we're sitting pretty close to 4-5/8-inches on that inside pin length. Now if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about these locks or anything else that we carry here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach back out to us because ultimately we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Ratings & Reviews
Love the key feature!
Perfect. Just as advertised and exactly what I needed.
Pins are solid and if excellent quality. The barrel locks seem solid and based upon how they torque down onto the pin it would be a struggle to get them off with a hammer.
