Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Parallel Accessory Mounting Plate for the Exposed Racks Multi Function Crossbars. Now this accessory mounting plate will let you attach roof top accessories to your Exposed Racks multifunction crossbar system. It is designed to work with rooftop tents and other rooftop accessories, and it can be secured in any square hole on your multi-function crossbar. Now, when you do install this, it will mount parallel on the crossbars for a nice strong attachment point. And when we say parallel what's going to happen is these bolt channels will run parallel to the crossbar. Just wanted to show you that I happened to pull one of the multifunction crossbars, here's the Exposed Rack, and the multifunction crossbar has these square holes in it that the accessories will click into.
Basically what happens it uses this push pin system right here that allows for nice, easy one handed installation. So when you go to install this, you just put it into one of the holes, push in on that pin, push it all the way down and just like that it'll snap into place. Once it gets all the way through that pin'll pop back out and hold it securely in place. Now, if I take this out, I just wanted to show you, right above there are the ridges right above the pushpin. There is a nice silicone washer that when you do push it onto the crossbar and it attaches, it'll create a nice snug fit. And what's nice using the push pin system it'll give you a nice, quick mounting and removal, makes it easy to swap out your accessories and you can actually move it to whichever hole you want.
So if you don't want it in this hole, you want to put it down here, same way, just push in on that pin, push it all the way through and just like that it's inserted. And to remove it, just push in on the pin and pull it right out. Very simple to do.Now, when this does install, I want to give you a measurement. Once that's totally installed the measurement from the top of the crossbar to the top of that accessory plate is going to be right at three quarters of an inch. And again, just push it to pull it out.
Now, the accessory plate is a heavy duty carbon steel construction, has a nice textured black powder coat finish on it to resist corrosion. If you noticed, I installed the stainless steel mounting hardware for use with the accessories, that comes with it. This part is made in the USA. Now the bolt channel width is about five sixteenths of an inch, and the overall plate dimension, the width on it from one end to the other is four and a half inches. And the length is right at three and thirteen sixteenths of an inch, but that should do it for the review on this Parallel Accessory Mounting Plate for the Exposed Racks Multi-Function Crossbars..
