The Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit makes setup simple by using brackets that line up with existing holes in your truck’s frame. That means no drilling is required and no permanent modifications are needed. The custom-fit brackets mount underneath the bed to create solid attachment points for the above-bed rails, giving you a strong base for your fifth wheel hitch while cutting installation time in half compared to universal kits.
These base rails use the industry-standard pattern, so they work with fifth wheel hitches from brands like Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley. The rails are rated for use with any hitch that fits standard rails—some rated up to 30K or more—so you can choose the hitch that best matches your towing setup without worrying about compatibility.
The visible rails have a dark gray carbide finish that blends well with the truck bed and helps resist scratches and wear. It’s a clean, low-profile setup that looks good and holds up over time while keeping your towing setup ready for the long haul.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT custom-fit fifth-wheel installation kit with the dark gray base rails for your Ford truck. Now this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks, and also fits the 2008 to 2010 Ford F-450 Super Duty trucks. And because it's a custom-fit part, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Now this kit you can see is a complete installation kit, allows you to install a fifth-wheel to your truck bed.
The kit will include everything shown here, the custom fit mounting brackets here on the side, the base rails, all the hardware you need for installation, and even a set of installation instructions that'll describe how everything goes together. Now the side custom fit brackets, I want to zoom in on those. If you'll notice the custom fit brackets, they're designed to mount beneath your truck bed. And as you can see, they provide the attachment points for your fifth-wheel rails. They are a nice black powder coat finish to resist corrosion.
And they do provide a custom fit by mounting to existing holes in your vehicle's frame. So you notice all the holes they got drilled on here. Those are in there because they'll match the holes on your frame. So it minimizes the amount of drilling that's required. And because of that, it'll cut the installation time in half, when you compare it to those universal kits that are out there.
Now, the base rails themselves, which are these right here, these will sit in your truck bed. They allow installation of your fifth-wheel trailer hitch to your vehicle. The rails are visible in your truck bed. If you notice, these have a dark gray finish to match the color of the CURT fifth-wheel hitch. And these rails are industry standard rails, which means they're compatible with B&W, CURT, Draw-Tite, Reese, and Husky Above Bed fifth-wheel trailer hitches.
But that should do it for the review on the CURT custom-fit fifth-wheel installation kit with the dark gray base rails for the Ford trucks.
