Hello neighbors and friends. Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at the ARB shackle with screw pin with a three-eighths inch thick diameter pin, rated at 2000 pounds. Now folks, this is what we call a bow shackle. It's gonna reduce wear on slings whenever you're connecting recovery equipment, and it improves load distribution, and increases the sling efficiently. As you can see, it's got a nice rounded body that's gonna allow for a wide sling bearing on the surface here, and it will connect and disconnect easily with the screw and pin.
You'll have to unscrew that, put it on your strap, screw that back in, and you're ready to go. It has a working low limit of 2000 pounds. As far as some dimensions, on the pin itself, overall length, I was getting two and an eighth inches long. The pin itself is a half inch thick on this guy. This one here is three-eighths of an inch thick.
As far as a width, at the widest point down here, I was getting right at one and three quarter inches wide. And as far as the length, I got two and a half inches long overall on a length. So again, this is a very simple install. Just screw it back in once you got your strap in place, and you're ready to go. Well, folks, that will wrap it up for our quick look at this ARB shackle.
I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
I had ordered an item according to description unfortunately it was different size. After a brief conversation and understanding etrailer quickly corrected my billing. Very good company and associates. Good stuff!
I have found these to work well. Been used with my winch to attach to trucks that need to be pulled out of mud. And also with my snatch strap. Every situation is a bit different and how to safely connect to a pull a vehicle changes. I like soft shackles when they will work, but when not having a good sturdy connection like this is great. I do always make sure to pair this with appropriate dampers, just in case.
