Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 Silverado 4.3 Lv3 EcoTec with 6l80E Transmission
Question:
I have the 2014 Silverdo with a 6L80E with a cooler plumbed into the radiator and the Transmission runs 190 towing my 5,000 boat or not. Heavy traffic with stop and go empty or towing it runs 190. I have heard the 2014 6L80E actually has a thermostat like a engine that keeps it around that temp and a cooler can make little difference but I have read articles of performance shops running dual cooler to solve the 6L80E from running so warm. My 2008 Silverado with a 4l60E would never get above 150 towing. Do you make or recommend a cooler for this truck?

The cooler you can keep your transmission fluid the longer your transmission will last, so basically we recommend transmission coolers for everyone. Especially those who are towing.
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to go with the largest one that will fit the available space in front of the radiator/AC condenser. The part # D13105 would be a great choice for you as long as you have the room for it. It measures 16-5/8" Wide x 12-5/8" tall x 3/4" deep.
I attached an install video and an FAQ on transmission coolers for you to check out.
