Is 50A Transfer Switch Progressive Dynamics Generator Dominant
Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/30/2025 >
Question:
I’m looking at the PD52 transfer switch to use it with an inverter in my 50 amp rv. It says that the inverter is generator dominant. Is there any way to change that so it will switch from inverter to shore power when plugged in? Thank you for your help.

Hey Brad, when you wire up the Progressive Dynamics Transfer Switch part # PD52 you would need to wire it to the dominant power source you are wanting to use as the primary source and then use the other power source in the other position so that when the primary source doesn't have power it will then look for power on the other side. You can make either the generator or shore power.

Hey Brad, did you have a chance to wire the transfer switch to make shore power the dominant source? I'd like to hear your outcome because it could give others confidence when setting up their systems.
