Will The Westin HDX Modular Grille Guard Interfere with My Sensors on My 2025 Chevy Suburban?

Will it interfere with the sensors

Hello Henry,
Congrats on the new ride! What is your new favorite feature?
It does look like the Westin HDX Modular Grille Guard with Punch Plate - Black Powder Coated Steel # W88GC could interfere with some of the sensors on your vehicle.
Here’s what Westin lists under Application Notes:
- Requires minor trimming of OEM bumper
- Requires minor trimming of tow hook pockets
- Will interfere with Adaptive Cruise (Speed) Control if equipped
- Will interfere with parking sensors if equipped
It’s wild how many sensors are packed into vehicles these days, makes it tough to find aftermarket accessories that won’t interfere with something.
In some cases, relocating the sensors is possible, but based on my research, that’s not typically recommended. For a 2025 Chevy Suburban, repositioning parking sensors might be doable with custom mounts, but it’s tricky to maintain proper angles and functionality. Calibration is often required after relocation.
As for radar sensors or front cameras used for adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance, those are far more sensitive. Relocating them can throw off their alignment, which could lead to system errors or even disable those features altogether.
If your Suburban is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, I’d recommend looking for a grille guard that’s specifically designed to be sensor-compatible. It’ll save you a lot of hassle and ensure everything continues to work as intended.
What are your thoughts?
