Updated 04/17/2025 | Published 04/15/2025

Question:

I have a Roadmaster Tow Dolly Trailer 3477, when I tow trailer empty or nothing on it Ive got to drive quite slow for the trailer sways side to side a lot so much I can even feel it while driving my F150 pickup. I even put 2 ratchet straps on each side of trailer and secured tightly, this corrects any swaying while traveling. must be some kind of adjustment needed, bought used with no book. your expertise will sure be appreciated, thanks Kent

Hello Kent, thanks for reaching out. It is not unheard of for the Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 to sway when unloaded. The following is taken straight from the owners manual:

Pulling the Dolly Empty when empty, the dolly is likely to bounce around
behind the motorhome. It is advisable to reduce the tire pressure by 15 psi to help alleviate bouncing and
vibration.

Be certain that the tires are reinflated to the correct pressure before loading a towed vehicle.

Reduce the tire pressure when towing the dolly empty. If the tire pressure is not reduced, as described above, the dolly will bounce and vibrate excessively. The dolly ramps and/or other components may be cracked or otherwise damaged. It is also advisable to slow down, also make sure the top of ball hitch is between 18-20 inches from the ground.

I hope this helps. Leave a reply below with any other questions and I am happy to get back to you.
