Troubleshooting Loud Popping Noises on the Furrion FMSMA-15-SS Microwave

Updated 04/10/2025 | Published 04/08/2025

Question:

We have 2 year old Furrion FMSMA-15-SS Microwave. On two separate occasions within 5 minutes upon turning on it made extremely loud popping noises as though electrical charges hitting metal. Any diagnosis? Something can be repaired with home repair or replacement needed. Any danger?

Hey David! Have you tried running your Furrion Convection Microwave item # FMCM15SS empty to see if it does the loud popping noises? What you're describing sounds like there's something metallic in there. I would try running it empty and see if you encounter the same issues.

I attached a chart below of what type of containers can and can't be used on which settings. If you have any additional questions go ahead and throw them into the comment box below.

Jarred, We have plugged unit in after thoroughly cleaning inside. Found nothing inside. Plugged in, turned on and loud cracking (electrical arching noise) stopped; but unit no longer heats and makes a louder than normal sound and would not heat water at all. Any help??? Thanks

@DavidA Since your Furrion Convection Microwave item # FMCM15SS is running and not heating then it has a broken Magnetron. Lucky for you this is a replaceable part, but you are going to need to reach out to Furrion directly to get one.
