Roof Basket Recommendation for 2024 GMC Yukon with Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack

Updated 04/03/2025 | Published 03/30/2025

Question:

Im looking to upgrade my roof basket to a heavier duty option. I have the Curt basket with the extension and its not quite sturdy enough. It shakes and vibrates alot on the highway and doesnt support enough weight capacity. I have a 2024 Yukon AT4 with Thule Wingbar Edge cross bars installed. What are my options? Also considering platforms for strength.

Hey Charles, thanks for reaching out!

My favorite roof rack storage rack is the 55" x 55" Inno Roof Deck Platform Rack # INA520 which is a simple platform, but some side rails can be added with the Rail Kit # IN57FR.

This rack is super easy to install because of the memory clamps, and it's made of aluminum so it's easy to move around and won't rust over time. I had the opportunity to install this on a Tacoma a few years ago so I'm adding that video for you to see my thoughts on it back then as well.

Does the 55" x 55" size fit what you're needing, or are you wanting something with different dimensions? Let me know in the comment section below!

Thank you Jon that is very helpful. I have not seen this concept/brand yet. Probably because Im looking for a larger solution though. For example, my current basket is 80 long and 39 wide. Im carrying luggage, tools, fuel, etc. so need the space. I also have large LED bars mounted to the front and the back so need the length to match the truck.

@CharlesT Got it - what do you think about the Yakima MegaWarrior # Y07080-82? This is a bit closer to the specs of your current basket, and the Yakima line of products is much better quality than Curt. This also has front/rear bars and an adjustable/removeable crossbar in the middle to add stability as well.
