Does the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Have a Plug and Play Adapter for a Brake Controller?

Question:

Im looking at the RED52VR brake controller for my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit which does have the tow package. I cannot see a connector under the dash and I really dont want to be splicing wires in my brand new Jeep. Is there any add-on to make this a plug-and-play install?

Hey Dale! Sorry to say but they stopped putting the brake controller adapter plugs in the Jeep Grand Cherokees a few years back. 2020 was the last model year they included them. The Curt Echo item # C51180 is going to be the only plug and play option. It will attach to your Jeep's 7-way and be controlled through an app on your phone.

If you do end up using a traditional brake controller, the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness item # RED52VR is the way to go. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your Jeep. The Liberty has a unique design where the main unit is concealed behind your dash and the only part visible is the control knob.

The Redarc item # RED52VR comes with a universal harness that will get you set up and ready to go.

Thanks Jerred. Wireless connections are not always 100% reliable. Can you affirm that this Curt Echo C51180 controller is indeed reliable and safe? Thank you, Dale

@DaleM I can indeed! The Echo item # C51180 uses Bluetooth so you don't have to worry about losing signal and it not functioning. If your phone dies it continues to use the preprogrammed settings.
