Will The Telesteps Attic Ladder Work In a Straight Up and Down Position?

Question:
My house was built 1952. I have an attic opening in a closet just inside the room. The door way is right there! The opening now is 24x24 rough. I can open it up to 24x45. Do to how close to the edge of the room, at the wall. Can that ladder be used more or less straight up and down. If I move the ladder away from the wall I will have 45 inch. Thanks.

Yes, the Telesteps Telescoping Pull Down Attic Ladder # TE84FR can be used in a virtually vertical position. Since the ladder is secured at the top there is a reduced chance of it sliding while you climb.
