Is The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR Compatible With The # ACDB
Question:
Kevin, is the ADV79FR compatible with the ACDB? I am adding an air conditioner to my fifth wheel where there wasn't one before, only a fan, so there are no existing thermostat controls. I don't want to have to pull down roofing and walls to run thermostat wires. I would like a low profile air conditioner unit that either has a manual control box or runs off of a wireless remote. Any suggestions?

Hey Jon,
Yes, the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner # ADV79FR is compatible with the Air Distribution Box # ACDB. This would have the controls on the air distribution box instead of a wall mounted thermostat. We don't currently have any systems with a wireless remote. You'll want to doublecheck the BTU rating of your current unit and make sure you have a 13,500BTU rating. If you have a 15,000BTU rating or you just want to upgrade you can go with the # ADV29FR instead.

Kevin, Everything on the install went great and the Advent a/c units work well. The only problem was that the mounting bolts in Air Distribution Box kit were about an inch too short for my 2012 Forest River 5th wheel. It didn't affect the Domestic replacement as I just used the existing bolts! Thanks for all your help! Jon Ludens

Okay, thanks. That's crazy, because Alex from your sales team said it isn't compatible, and the manufacturer actually told me I had to use an ACRG15 distribution box.
