Replacement Anode Rod For An RV Water Heater In A Grand Design Transcend Travel Trailer 265BH

Question:
We have a Grand Design Transcend Travel Trailer 26BH and need to replace the Anode Rod. The one we removed measures shorter than the Magnesium 9 1/2 rod CAM 11593 that I found on your site however, it appears the deterioration is what has caused ours to measure shorter. Could you confirm this rod would work? Thank you, Kathi

Hi Kathi,
Anode rods are sacrificial hunks of metal that are designed to deteriorate so that the metal of the tank won't. A bit more length for the rod would just mean that this new anode rod would last longer. Most RV water heaters require an anode rid with a 3/4" NPT thread size so you'll want to measure the opening to see if the 1/2" # CAM11593 would be a compatible fit. When you open the door there should be a few stickers with some information about the water heater and the model #, if you can send me some pictures of these stickers I'd be happy to confirm.
