What is the Best Affordable Brake Controller
Published 12/20/2023 >
Question:
I need advice on a replacement brake controller. I bought my last one from you guys for my 2022 4Runner, cant remember exactly which one it is, but its terrible. Its not digital, the slide controls on it are black just like the body of the controller so you cant even see where they are set at. Also, they are so loose that while driving from normal vibration, the slides move up higher or lower and then when you go to stop, you either have way less braking or way way too much. I want to start over with a new one, I have a new trailer that only weighs 1320 pounds single axle. I think once I load it up I would have it weighing at most 2000-2300 pounds. I want a controller that is affordable and has easy to see and adjust controls with digital readout so I can actually see where it is set. Can you send me options please?

For what you are looking for the best option is the Tekonsha Brake EVN part # TK63VR. This controller covers everything you are looking for and more. It has a digital display, is affordable, but what I really like is the reliability and performance of the controller. This is a proportional controller which means it senses how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and applies the trailer brakes with the same intensity.
