Question:
I bought this wiring harness for my 2023 Kia sportage. After installing and hooking to a trailer the right turn signal blinks rapidly when turned on and there is a light on in the dash saying check right taillight but the taillight is not out. This even happens if the trailer is not hooked up. Left turn signal blinks at a normal pace.

It sounds like the connection into the right turn signal wire on your 2023 Kia Sportage is bad or came loose.
What connectors did you use to splice the right turn signal wire of the # C99DR into your vehicle's wiring? If you used a quick splice those are notorious for not making a good connection, and you're better off using butt connectors # DW05744-5.
Double check that connection point, and that it's hooked up to the correct wire on the vehicle, and let me know what you find.
