Tip for Stuck B and W Turnoverball Gooseneck Release Mechanism

Updated 04/10/2023 | Published 04/09/2023

Question:

We have a 2020 silverado 3500hd srw with this hitch installed and when we went to remove the companion hitch the locking pin under the bed isnt moving anymore! We fought to get it released and now that we need the fifth wheel again we cant get the pin to engage at all. It wont budge after trying to use the handle it doesnt move at all. How can we fix this? We need the hitch to tow our rv Tues afternoon and without the pin we obviously cant. HELP!

So what happened is that corrosion and dirt has built up in the release mechanism of the Turnoverball gooseneck you have. The best option is going to be to spray as much WD40 type lubricant in the socket to hopefully get it to work loose. It might take a few applications of this to get it to come out.
