Review of the B and W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch High-Rise Ball

Brad Hello neighbors it's Brad here, etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the BMW high rise, which is a 2 and 5 16th ball for a gooseneck. So next to the high rise, we have a standard BMW. Now, as you can tell, and the name implies, the high rise is quite a bit taller. And what that's going to do, is when in place and hooked up, is going to give you a little bit of height on your attachment point. What this is going to be good for is giving you that extra clearance.

And that way it may raise it above to clear any transfer takes, toolboxes or any other imbed accessories that you may have. Next to our standard 2 and 5 16th ball, you can tell that they look very similar minus this section, and that's where it's raised up. But, something that you might not be able to see is the gross trailer weight rating actually goes down with this because it is raised up and that's gonna be at 20,000 pounds versus the 30,000 pounds on the standard. Now, another feature that you don't get, like the standard ball, is the fact that you're not able to turn this and drop it in upside down for storage because it is taller. So if that's kind of a make or break, the reason you're getting this is to clear your accessories, and if you have a toolbox, you can put it in there.

The great things that they do share in common are going to be the steel construction. So they're both very durable and they also have zinc coating on it. So that zinc coating is going to give you nice protection from the elements and from rust and corrosions. So, here we have one that's been used for a couple of years and has a lot of miles on it, and is used quite often. And as you can tell, yeah, it's a little dirty, but with the cleanup, you can have it looking brand new again because it is coated.

So, if you are concerned with the clearance of your bed accessories while towing something like a camper, or something like this snowmobile trailer, or a horse trailer, or whatever you're towing, this is going to be a great option for you to gain that clearance and still be able to tow. And that was a look at the BMW high-rise the 2 and 5 16th ball for a gooseneck..
